The chicken sandwich was also such a pleasant surprise. The katsu was ridiculously juicy yet it had zero sogginess to it – ya girl was definitely impressed
Highly recommend paying this spot a visit. They’re open for brunch 7 days a week and also for dinner between Tuesday to Saturday.
The specialty coffee and drinks were a standout, pairing wonderfully with the food. ☕️ The cozy vibe and friendly service made the whole experience even better, and I’ll definitely be back to try more items on the menu. Great spot for anyone who loves quality food with a Japanese twist in Glen Waverley!
They get very busy so be prepared to wait
Highly recommended!
Price is on the higher end. And there is a time limit on my reservation. I guess that’s the price of going to a popular brunch spot featured on every social media platform.
Cafe looked cozy, had high hopes but left feeling slightly sick from the amount of oil I ingested.
I ordered the Green Tea Udon with the $15 drink and buttered fried rice on the side.
The Udon by itself was unique and interesting, it was something different from the typical noodle dish I have seen before on the menu. The tempura on first bite, provided a nice contrast between something fried and the senchai broth but soon was outweighed by the amount of oiliness in the tempura. The best way to explain the texture of the tempura was like if you added a teaspoon of oil to the bottom of the chip packet.
The Melon Soda had more ice that liquid in the teacup.
Honestly think I’m giving a higher food rating than the review shows. Might not come back after that experience. Honest food rating 1.8/5 just because I felt slightly sick from the oil.
After few months, came here on a weekday lunch and was lucky to have no queue.
Had the tantanmen. Dry noodle.
Taste was good. Portion was average.
However I find the prices across the menu are relatively high. Would be back definitely.
We also added fries and a cream cheese bun — surprisingly good combo! The fries were crispy and the bun had just the right touch of sweetness.
For drinks, we had the yuzu soda and melon soda — refreshing and fun, especially the melon one which brought back childhood vibes.
The place was quite busy and there was a short wait, but it was definitely worth it. Would recommend if you’re after a satisfying Japanese-style meal!
Food tasty and coffee smooth.
Only drawback is that it’s quite loud inside when full.
Ordered the onigiri lunch set and spaghetti to taste. Everything is either too salty or too sweet, the only reason we finished the food is to avoid wastage. I am not sure how Japanese inspired are these dishes, it feels more Chinese/korean. There’s even a Chinese side dish (flakey meat pastry) that I have to raise my eyebrows and check on Andzero’s profile to make sure I didn’t went to the wrong place.
The cafe atmosphere also puts me off a bit as it is really cramped and it stinks with a greasy smell due to poor ventilation, I literally needed put my clothes into the wash as it smells so unpleasant after visiting this cafe.
The staffs are friendly so I will keep that as a 2/2.5 stars
