Reviews
Due to how convenient the location is, I would definitely give this place another try.
PROS: Spring rolls and dumplings were good. Pho flavor was different but good.
CONS: Chicken clay pot was disappointing. There was no clay pot, and there were no veggies in the dish per the menu. Frankly speaking, the dish was more teriyaki than what I had expected.
I didn’t want to complain about little things, so I accepted Pepsi instead. #1 The level of service was average. I was trying to be polite when the cashier interrupted me while I was speaking and had air pods in. I had called for canned Coke, but they gave me fountain Pepsi instead, so I took it since it was a holiday and I didn’t really want to gripe about little things.
#2 I had to make a $15 purchase in order to utilize a card, so I bought the rice and pork chop dish along with a side plate of chicken and an egg. My goodness, it was awful. This dish was only nice because of the rice. The porkchop was dry and bland, and they served me a side of the thinnest sliced chicken, which was dry and slightly burnt (I can’t get the flavour out of my tongue; it tastes like I smoked a cigarette). How do you ruin a fried egg, and the sweet sauce hardly made a difference? Why does it have this horrible flavour?
Lord have mercy, you guys need to work on your existing menu or at least change your chef. The cashier also informed me that they didn’t have a takeout menu since they were working on a new one.
My order took a turn for the worst before I even opened the lid to my teriyaki chicken and was left utterly confused, as the container was basically empty! It looked like I was given maybe a 1/4 cup of chicken and a cup of rice (separate container) which I paid $13 for. Not only was the to-go portion smaller than I have ever seen from a restaurant, but the chicken smelled and tasted burnt! The flavor of the teriyaki sauce itself was good, but I had to look past the burnt aroma to finish my meal. I’m pretty disappointed because these issues are such an easy fix!
