From the ojojo and baked oyster to the sea bream and sinasir. Special OMG moment for the jollof rice; genuinely unforgettable.
The drinks were perfectly crafted, the ambience was warm, elegant and intimate, and the service was outstanding.
Huge shout-out to Elisa, who was amazing, attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel so welcome.
An incredible experience all round. We’ll definitely be back.
Highly recommended.
I had long been hesitant to try caviar, having always associated it with an overpowering fishiness. I could not have been more mistaken. It was exquisite and easily one of the highlights of the evening. I was equally reluctant about the tongue, yet it proved to be a beautifully executed and memorable dish. In truth, selecting a favourite course would be impossible. Each dish surpassed the last, both in creativity and flavour, and left us wanting more. Thankfully, we were able to enjoy a second serving of the caviar.
The restaurant strikes that rare balance between innovation and refinement. The wine pairing was thoughtfully curated, delivered with impressive knowledge and genuine enthusiasm. Service throughout was polished, attentive and seamless.
When a restaurant achieves this level of cohesion, with cuisine, atmosphere, wine and service all in harmony, the result is unforgettable. Our sincere thanks for an extraordinary evening.
The service was outstanding throughout, every waiter was friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food they were presenting. A special highlight was receiving a personal handshake from the chef, which made the evening feel even more memorable and personable.
Akoko delivered on every level and we will definitely be back.
The drinks were just as impressive, each beautifully crafted with West African influences from Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, and Côte d’Ivoire. Sitting at the counter seats gave us the best view of the action, watching the chefs work with such care and precision. The staff were also incredibly friendly, explaining each dish in detail and sharing the stories behind them. The warmth and love from the whole team was truly felt throughout the experience.
My favourite dishes were the Jollof, squid abunuabunu, and monkfish egusi, all absolute standouts. It was such a joy to experience the flavours of West Africa, especially since it’s a cuisine we rarely get to enjoy back home in Sydney. Truly exceptional from start to finish.
Rahim and his manager, unfortunately I didn’t catch her name. So I will have to refer to her as the lovely dark chocolate skinned lady. Went above and beyond to look after me during my meal from the washing of hands to deserts.
If the opportunity arises, will visit again for the long menu.
A couple of things, I would like to point out to diners is that the caviar is a supplement and is charged extra, water both still and sparkling is £2. But comes with refills and half of the profits goes to charity.
As a black person, I am proud that we have a restaurant in Central London that celebrates Ghanaian, Nigeria and Senegalise culinary food that also employs a diverse group of people to run the restaurant. Ranging from Black, White, Asian and Oriental people.
Thanks again for the lovely experience.
I rarely compliment restaurant in London but definitely one of the best tasting menus in London. Every single course was interesting, unique, exotic and tasted delicious. The dessert and the sweets were great too. We did not add the supplement (goat cream with caviar) – additional £35. Service was good but not outstanding. Still has room for improvement. I wish the description by the staff was a bit clearer and with emphasis/enthusiasm as I didn’t understand some of it.
We spent over £300 for both of us with red wines and still water.
Definitely recommended.
