10/10 authentic Mexican restaurant. Salsa and food definitely catering to the white people palette not too spicy on salsa or sauces at all! You may definitely come here and enjoy yourself. I personally prefer more spicy but that’s why if you are like me, you can order a side of grilled jalapeños or pickled if that’s what you like. They are very nice, very professional, and friendly. Greeted immediately upon entering and seated immediately after literally walked in was greeted and seated and given fresh house made chips and salsa, again the salsa was not spicy at all. I wish they did have the option of spicy or mild maybe both but it was still 10/10 for their effort, cleanliness, and authenticity. They played Mexican music and a little bit of country during our visit. My white husband had preferred they stuck to Mexican music lol we still very much enjoyed ourselves. They played bad bunny huge portions, good cocktails and margaritas!

Since it opened I’ve had mixed results from this restaurant, your experience is likely going to be different from mine – so this is just my experience. When it first opened it was pretty good, my wife and I especially liked the Carne Asada, though it seemed pretty expensive it was good. A couple days ago I went in and ordered it to go, it is about the same price ($22) but much smaller, or at least my piece was. It came out almost immediately which makes me suspect is is pre-made and confirmation of that was that it was cold by the time I got it home (about 0.75 mi away). All of the order was cold. Still tastes good, but cold. On top of that I sat at the bar to order, thought I’d have a tequila while I waited. A double (barely 2 ounces I think) was $12 of their well brand. I’ve tried to order gin there and been told they don’t have any, so I’ve had to point out the bottle to the bartended. So to sum up, I wish the food wasn’t so over priced and I wish the English skills of the bar staff were just a bit better.

My first time at Guadalajara, Food was good but on the saltier side. Prices are a little higher than the typical Mexican restaurant but ok. The worst part of my experience was with the server. He had made mistakes which is not a problem. The problems come when you tell him that you ordered something and you get something else. Example wife ordered the cowboy fajitas, she got the chicken. The waiter was arguing that we put a fork in it. The point was to search for the beef, shrimp, and cheese. He was able to correct it. The second issue was with my burrito. I ordered the Guadalajara burrito and ordered it with shredded chicken. I did not study all the burritos on the menu. All I looked for was the shredded chicken and the cheese sauce. I ate the burrito. The bill said I ordered the California burrito. After the fact the waiter told me and argued that I ate it. That burrito comes with grilled chicken that makes it more expensive, I got the shredded based on the Guadalajara burrito. He did not want to update the bill to reflect the correct order, he just said don’t tip me. I tipped him anyway but not planning on coming back due to the experience with waiter. The atmosphere is very loud due to a lot of reflection of sounds from all the hard surfaces which can make it hard to hear.

Absolutely delicious! I didn’t take a picture, because we were starved and devoured it. I got the taco de quesa birria and he got the seafood enchiladas accompanied by a Blue Moon draft. We went during a time that the draft was 1/2 price which was nice. It wasn’t very busy, but the food was fresh and hot. I really enjoyed the salsa and chips that were brought to the table to start. I always make the mistake of filling up on that while waiting on the meal. Which didn’t take long at all. I love the large painting right when you walk in. Will be back!

We had a chicken quesadilla meal. OMG. That chicken was seasoned so well. I have never had mexican chicken seasoned as good as this. I let them know and will go there again and will order on line. They are very quick on service and food also. Thanks for a great dining experience. If i have a time to book a party, I would go with them.

Love the food, service. It is vegetarian friendly with substitution options. Ask for hot salsa if you love spicy food. We have tried their other location in Ankeny as well & it is great as well.

Finally had the opportunity to try this new restaurant in Waukee. Lots of seating and no wait on a Saturday Night. Had the Steak Fajitas which were delicious. Service was on point with refills offered for the chips and salsa. Will definitely be back in the future.
