Wow! Eaten here many times but tonight the ‘spicy wings’ came out with japs – had an oven finished flavor that’s their thing here, but it soaked into the japs and turned a corner in my eats! Stuck my head in and thanked the cook. Fyi – I already ate one and some carrots, biggest wings ever at the Big Axe!

My friend had her graduation party here Saturday evening. This was my first time here! The waitresses and the staff were all wonderful and very attentive! The food was great! I like how it’s kid friendly! My teen daughter was excited to play pool for the first time! I will definitely be back!

Alicia is hands down one of the best bartenders I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. She’s fast, friendly, and knows exactly how to make every drink just right whether it’s a classic cocktail or something off the top of her head. What really sets her apart is how she makes everyone at the bar feel welcome. Even on a packed night, she’s smiling, remembering names, and keeping the good vibes going. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does, and it shows in the atmosphere she creates.

This is a pretty sweet bar and grill…. We really wish they still had the axe throwing, but I guess I get it…. It wasn’t in demand, but other than that, this place was great…. The food was amazing, my wife had the coconut shrimp and fried pickle spears, and I had the double axe burger with a side of fries… The coconut shrimp was really good, but the burger was amazing, the side of fries were pretty damn good also…. The bartender took care of us as good as she could with a full bar… I can definitely see us coming back to this joint

This is painful to write, yet I must express my recent experience.
We usually love the food here, and our bartenders are always wonderful. Unfortunately, the rest of the visit was highly “off-putting.” A male staff member went out of his way to exclude us from his greetings to EVERYONE in the establishment before later standing behind the bar and holding his phone up toward us as if he were taking pictures or recording.
This behavior was unprofessional and made us feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcomed. While the food and service from the bartender were great, the actions of this one individual have ensured we won’t be returning.

Great service and food. We got the tator tots, which I forgot to take a picture of. They were so delicious! Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside. For the entree I got the hamburger steak. I told my hubby this was hamburger steak on crack! So delicious and beefy. The garlic mashed taters were yummy as well. My hubby got the club sandwich and onion rings. Both were really good. They also have a really nice stocked bar with lots of beer on tap. We highly recommend this place. We’ll try the axe throwing next time.

As a local resident and a former Axe regular, I don’t like leaving this rating. Alvin has limited choices for bars and restaurants, outside of fast food. Why Corey refuses to put more effort into capitalizing off that opportunity, I have no idea. The bartenders and servers have been and continue to be amazing! That might be the only thing keeping the regulars coming back and attracting others to give it a try. The food used to be good. It was consistent and fresh. There also used to be a daily special. When they expanded the space some months back, they refreshed their menu and added some items. We were optimistic, however quickly disappointed in the quality of the food. My husband and I used to come at least once a week. We decided to take a break from Axe for a couple months to hopefully let all their changes settle. We tried it again last night. It was 7pm on a Saturday following Thanksgiving. There may have been 15-20 people there, total, including the staff. Beers were cold and unfortunately so was the food. I ordered the club, and my turkey chunks were still frozen in the middle. The store-bought frozen fries were the only thing we ate because they were hot. My husband’s wrap was soggy. The bartender was great as always, apologetic and offered to remove our food from the bill. We told her it was not her fault, and we will pay for it; we were just disappointed that things were not improving.

Go Heidi Heidi Heidi, Alvin high School ex cheerleaders of ’86 . We were overjoyed to learn that one of our own legendary cheerleaders is working at this amazing establishment. Great food great service and a great time reconnecting with all the hottie cheerleaders of school years passed. Definitely will be coming back to visit this girl and grab a few drinks
