Excellent, small hometown diner. They actually make their own chorizo, they make their own maple syrup, lots of organic options. Lots of gluten-free options. Prices are good. Portion size is reasonable. Staff is really good. Check out the gluten-free, buckwheat corn pancakes! Served with homemade maple syrup

Next time I feel like I need to be on a vacation I will be heading to Tilly’s right here in my hometown of Rhinelander, WI. I don’t know of another local restaurant with such an urban feel breakfast experience in the area. Sweet corn pancakes with a blueberry cinnamon compote and a delicious and beautiful Hazelnut Latte. It turned a dreary winter morning into anything but!

Already the menu is limited, and half of it was crossed out.
They were unapologetically slow and disorganized. I beat the rush, but they somehow didn’t get my sandwich started until I inquired 15 minutes later. Then when I finally got my sandwich, the server suggested that I take it to go before she even set it down.
This was my first time visiting Rhinelander, and this cafe was a poor representation.

Definitely my favorite place in the Northwoods. The ambiance is really open, bright and welcoming. A great place for a breakfast or lunch hangout or to have coffee while doing work. The food is incredible (shout-out to the Chef Kris’ burger) and the ingredients always taste so healthy and fresh. Their different soups are to-die-for. I so appreciate that they offer so many gluten-free options. Their almond milk vanilla lattes are also bomb, and so are all of their coffee drinks. I love this place! But if you know me at all, you know this already

This is a tough review
✅The food is truly outstanding- like hands down some of my fav scones and breakfast sandwiches in town
✅The coffee is smooth and wonderful, some of the best I’ve ever had!!
But the service, is slow…so slow – one Tuesday morning it took 38min for 1 -16oz latte …now was the coffee worth it ♀️ yea kinda…but this is definatly not the place to go if your in ANY kind of time crunch.

I have been frequenting this little gem of a cafe for several years and have enjoyed it every time. Fresh home made options. Responsible sourcing if clean food, friendly staff; clean and quite the cute ambiance. Enjoy so many options for breakfast or lunch or sip just a coffee / espresso. Kids area outdoor seating in summer

Tilly’s makes me so happy! I feel so cared for here! The staff is super sweet and the atmosphere is cozy. They make everything 100% as healthy a possible. NO junk. They even go as far as to make all their coffee syrups from scratch! I came here yesterday and told them I have an intolerance to fructose, which includes honey. Today after my husband and I ordered breakfast, the kitchen staff remembered me and took the time to come out and make sure I didn’t order something I couldn’t eat! We tried 2 other coffee shops in town and they were honestly terrible. Don’t go anywhere else. PS Tilly’s scones are spot on in flavor and texture. Simply the best!

Update: 9/2/23. Finally convinced my husband to eat breakfast with me here. He ordered the breakfast sandwich and a scone. He liked it and he liked that portions were smaller. He however brought his own coffee. lol. Diehard Maxwell House fan.
I was able to try the raspberry scone. My favorite so far. It would be nice to have the schedule for the scone flavor rotation, but you can pretty much count on the blueberry lemon scone.
Update: 8/30/23. I sto here from time to time for a scone and a latte. I have not found another latte I like except for here. I ordered the breakfast platter and the food was hot. Burned my fingertips on the bacon..as with most specialty places, the prices are higher, but they offer organic and vegetarian options which always cost more. Bathroom wasn’t as clean as I have seen in the past, but not horrible. There was a screeching child who felt the need to screech every 15 seconds so it was not as relaxing as it normally is. music wasn’t to loud or annoying. Still a solid 5 stars
So, I saw a Facebook post advertising their lemon blueberry scones. I am not a coffee drinker and really don’t care for scones, but the picture looked delicious. I ordered one. It had just been freshly made and it melted in my mouth. I immediately wanted another, but decided against it since it was not a buffet. I ordered a Carmel latte which came in a nice size cup. It did not have a strong coffee taste- just perfect for me. The next day, I introduced this yummy goodness to 3 more people and told a friend. They also wanted another one. On this second trip my husband and I had breakfast, it was all very good. Our only complaint was the food wasn’t very warm. Oh, yeah my husband likes stronger coffee Look forward to eating some more of those scones in the future.

Really nice upscale little restaurant for breakfast and lunch. The owners have done a really nice job restoring the inside and it has a nice mix of modern and historical charm. The food is a little more thoughtful than a greasy spoon and they pay close attention to their ingredients. A nice place to stop for a latte or to sit and have a nice meal with friends. Different than a lot of Northwoods Fare.
