Visited Helen Back Pizza on Thursday, October 9, 2025 around 8 PM with my wife and another couple for our first visit. Unfortunately, the night started off rough — we stood at the front counter for about 15 minutes with no one helping us. Several employees said the cashier would be “right back,” but she never returned. Eventually, we were told that no one there knew how to use the kiosk system, which was confusing to hear.
We were finally told we could seat ourselves in the bar area, where one hardworking bartender seemed to be doing it all. She was running around non-stop while other employees looked unsure of what to do. Once we finally got our orders in, things improved.
My wife and our friend got the $5 endless mimosas (Thursday special). We ordered the 16-inch Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza and an order of egg rolls. The pizza came out fast, topped with white garlic sauce, chicken, bacon, cheese, and jalapeños — ranch on the side. It was good, around 7/10, though we all agreed it would’ve been better with the ranch drizzled on top instead of as a dip.
The egg rolls were the star of the night — crispy, flavorful, and served with Thai spice sauce that really elevated them. A definite 9/10 despite the $9 price for three (or six halves).
Our friends ordered a 10-inch cheese pizza (simple but fresh, 7/10) and the Stewby Pizza with shrimp, balsamic, and margarita-style toppings. I’m not a shrimp fan, but removing them left a surprisingly good margarita pizza (8/10 across the board).
In total, we spent about $50 before tip for the 16-inch pizza, egg rolls, a soda, and mimosas. Overall, the food was good, not the “best in the area” as some reviews say, but still worth trying.
Would I return? Yes, probably to try the sandwiches next time.
Would I recommend it? Yes, with honesty — great flavors once you get past the chaotic start.

Absolutely Delicious pizza. The best pizza in the panhandle. It is SO full of flavor and the texture is addicting. We ordered the Chris Special (talk with Chris if you can. He’s a super cool guy), the veggie pizza, and BBQ chicken pizza. (It’s called something else… I can’t remember) They were ALL packed with flavor. I’m already looking forward to eating the leftovers hahaha (photo isn’t the best… I’m no photographer haha)

Stopped in for dinner while passing through, can’t say enough good things about this place, the staff and the pizza. Top notch. I ordered this custom pizza I’m calling “The Flameout” tying it into the aviation community here.
Pepperoni, sausage, smoked bacon, jalapeños, mushrooms, and green peppers on a cauliflower crust (5 ⭐️). Get the cauliflower crust well done, that’s what Debbie (bartender) advised and she was right!

seriously best pizza ever. You should order a Hot&Spicy with a cauliflower crust. It’s the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life.

Update: Tried again after 3 months. I want to like this place because it’s close to home, but this time I didn’t even get to order before I saw the guy taking orders put his finger in/on his nose and lick his fingers to open a blue plastic bag and then handle to go boxes, open boxes to put in sauce sides, touch pie a box, and handle a pie tray with a pizza on it all before washing his hands. When I asked about it, he defended himself saying, “it happens” and didn’t wash his hands. It’s basic food safety to wash your hands after touching the face and before handling food or things containing food ♀️
The guy taking orders gave me the heebie-jeebies, but I wanted to give this place a try. The crust is great, but the rest of the pizza was the worst in town. The amount of cheese was lacking. I suggest going to Brooklyn for a good pizza with good crust at for not as much, Task Force for the same crust and better taste, or Hideaway for quality cheese and his toppings. Heck, Domino’s and Little Caesars has better pizza. I wouldn’t talk to the guy taking the orders because he didn’t seem very friendly. I won’t be back!

Manager was nice and helped me when doordash wasn’t working. However order was wrong I didn’t order the sausage meat pizza I ordered top line and great white. Both pizzas were burnt. Honestly first time in my life I haven’t liked a pizza. Pretty disappointed first time trying them

Beautiful pizzas. Fresh and tasty ingredients. Honestly, that’s what I noticed first. All the different ingredients and smells. Huge variety of pizzas. Owner usually there walking around shaking hands. Nice little spot. Will be going regularly.

We were thoroughly delighted with our pizza from Helen Back Pizza. The toppings were generous, and the flavor was on-point. We chose the Top Line pizza and the Great White. Both pizzas were equally enjoyed by our group and were super yummy. We also purchased salads which were enough for our entire group to share. They were HUGE and perfectly complemented the delicious pizza. While we got our pizza to-go, their restaurant was incredibly busy. It looks like they have lots of loyal customers. Great pizza place all around!

We stopped in for lunch. Staff was kind and attentive and brought a coloring book for our toddler. The pizza is the best in town, by far. I got the small top line and took half home (I’m already excited to eat it tomorrow!) and my husband got the chicken bacon ranch. Everything was cooked to perfection and the ranch was amazing. I’m so glad this place is here, stop in and support a local pizza joint!
