My family is relatively new to the gluten-free lifestyle, my son being diagnosed with Celiac Disease just a few months ago. I don’t have a lot of experience with gluten-free baked goods, so it doesn’t feel genuine to say that the cupcakes that we have gotten from Britt’s Bakehouse are the best gluten-free cupcakes we’ve had. I do, however, feel confident in stating that the cupcakes we have gotten from Britt’s Bakehouse are among the best cakes of ANY kind, gluten-free or not, that we have ever had.
We are so happy to have found them, they made my son’s first birthday after his diagnosis not just bearable, but really special. He chose the chocolate cake, with chocolate buttercream frosting and birthday sprinkles, and they were outstanding. Moist, rich and delicious, and they were as beautiful to look at as they were to eat – but you’ll have to trust me, as I didn’t act quickly enough to take a photo before they were all gone. I had a birthday recently as well, and we again ordered cupcakes from Britt’s and were again delighted. My choices were chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting, and they were every bit as lovely and delicious as the ones we got for my son.
The staff is friendly and helpful, and the shop is located in an easy-to-reach part of Kirkwood, with plenty of free parking nearby. So far, we have only tried their cupcakes, but they have a large and varied menu that we intend to sample soon. Give them a try, even if you aren’t gluten-free. You won’t be disappointed.

This is a cute bakery. We stopped inside to grab a gift card for a friend that is obsessed with this place. It’s very small inside. We met the owner, she was decently friendly and explained that they are struggling with getting items made this season and they “need a location 3x bigger and much more staff”. Because of this, they were out of a lot of items.
They luckily did have gift cards though! We decided to buy a couple bakery items since we were already inside. They were just okay, but we aren’t gluten free, so that may explain why they tasted a bit more chalky than your typical dessert. Not sure, but our family friend loves it!

This is a wonderful gluten-free bakery that also has gluten-free dairy-free options as well. I enjoyed two gf/df cupcakes and a cookie (my Birthday ). Hubby enjoyed the rest of our purchases. This place will be a regular stop on my monthly St Louis commitments. I’d highly recommend this bakery.

I’ve been gluten-free for 10 years and LOVE Britt’s in general, but they made my wedding cake and it couldn’t have been better! It was so beautiful, and our favorite was the chocolate cake with caramel buttercream. So thankful for what they do and that I could have a delicious cake at my wedding! I just want the icing, it’s so goooood and will prob order a little cake just because!

Cute little gluten free bakery. We stopped in here while we were visiting from out of town because a family member has celiac disease and misses out on a lot of yummy food because of it. The staff was super nice. The pumpkin donuts are amazing. You’d never tell they were gluten free. Will definitely be returning our next trip back and would highly recommend to anyone, gluten free or not. Their stuff is good!

I am gluten free and was determined to find a good TASTING gluten free cake for our wedding. The cake tasting process at Britt’s is phenomenal. You get to pick several cake flavors, icing flavors, and filling flavors. They prepare the package for you in a way that allows you to combine all of the choices in many different ways to get the most out of the process. Everything we tasted was delicious so it was difficult to decide. We ended up going very simple – a spiced cake with cream cheese frosting and filling. Additionally, I sent Britt’s an inspiration photo of how I wanted the cake to look and they did exactly what I asked. We put a little cake topper of our dog (custom from Etsy) on the side, and the final product was perfect. Honestly, this cake was AMAZING. It was flavorful and moist and rich. We had one piece leftover from the wedding that we put in a gallon bag for safe keeping. But…we couldn’t wait and decided to eat the rest of the cake with spoons out of the gallon bag on our honeymoon. I did sample cakes from a few other bakeries in town – this was hands down the best.

When I tell you this is best bakery in STL! I don’t even have a gluten allergy or anything and the quality is astounding. We went in about 12 noon and by 2:30pm we were heading back. We got some for the fridge. The cookie cake is amazing and so is the cheesecake. They use top quality ingredients and you can tell the difference!
