We went for happy hour and dinner. They also have rooms for rent. The ombiance is terrific, as was the BBQ pulled pork. They have a good selection of beer on draft, whiskey, wine, and a fireplace that would be very nice in winter. An excellent place for lunch or dinner in Laguna, San Diego county.
Edit: We visited again and had the Route 94 BBQ Bacon Double Smash Burger. It was excellent, especially after hiking.

Stopped by The Outpost by Valley Farm in Mt. Laguna after wrapping up a long week of work and it basically turned into an unofficial company party for Legacy Home Energy. If you’re working or living in East County San Diego and need a solid spot to unwind, this place is hard to beat.
Great atmosphere, rustic mountain vibes, friendly staff, strong drinks, and plenty of TVs for football. Perfect spot to decompress after a full day of HVAC installs, service calls, or projects up here in Mt. Laguna and the surrounding areas. The bar setup is awesome, the selection is solid, and the whole place feels welcoming whether you’re a local, contractor, or just passing through.
We do a lot of work throughout East County San Diego, and spots like this are exactly why we love serving communities like Mt. Laguna. Highly recommend The Outpost by Valley Farm if you’re looking for a laid-back mountain bar with good energy, good people, and a great setting.
We’ll definitely be back.

We love the Outpost! Came here this morning after a short (cold!) hike. Shelby was our bartender and she was fabulous and our food was mouthwatering good. I had the avocado toast and my hubby had the breakfast burrito…so good! We always love our visits to The Outpost!

We waited over an hour for our food. They clearly forgot about it. We had to check in on it and it took another 15 mins after that – everyone in our party of 6 had already received and consumed their meals, our FRIES were finally ready. They were cold and stuck together/burnt. I wanted to like this place, but come on. They didn’t even offer to comp us. If they had, I wouldn’t be leaving a bad review. Everyone makes mistakes, but this was lame customer service on top of that.

OMG I LOVE THIS PLACE!
Disclaimer: we didn’t stay here, just passed through and stopped on our way up the mountain. Service, food and vibes were on point. Cute and feels like a mom and pop place, felt nice it support local. Everyone was kind. Bathroom is clean and stocked. Kitchen looked like they were cranking out yummy food and we enjoyed our pie!
Prices are fantastic and you get A Lot of food. Nice small bar area and good amount of seating.

Great place to grab a meal. Drove bye on Mother’s Day and the place was busy. Locals know where the good food is.
We both had the Smash Burger with fries and not disappointed. Enjoyed the upbeat atmosphere and the rustic decorations. Well done and we will be returning.

I stopped here while driving through Mount Laguna, and it was exactly what I needed. The atmosphere is super relaxed and welcoming, and the food is fantastic—perfect after a day of exploring the trails. i want to like this place but they make it hard. on weekends they’re 10/10. friendly bartenders food is good. during the week…1/10. Whoever works the day shift, is so rude. can’t be bothered to serve or interact. never smiles. acts like you being there is a major incovience. i asked if we could keep a tab open she didn’t answer but charged me closed it out and said “no we’re changing shifts”… like okay i get it but so unwelcoming. mind you this was after i was standing there a good 3 minutes with no one else there. the friendly kitchen worker grabbed her for us but not a sorry or a smile but asked what we wanted. blows my mind. the food isn’t worth the poor service. if you’re every wondering why your day shift may not be performing as well check out the staff could be your issue.

The long wait is not worth it. Understandable if you are ordering the bbq platter but a cheeseburger and grilled cheese, uh uh no way. Look the food was great, but at least give us our drinks while waiting. Another thing is hearing other customers complaining of staff being on cell phones during service.
