Just passing thru and was hungry and saw this place. Had the pasta and a piece of lemon pie, both were good. And the young waitress was helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend this place.

Don’t judge a restaurant based on its location!
My wife and I were touring the local covered bridges and hiking Audra State Park when our hunger forced us to find some resolve. We love supporting local diners, and Medallion popped up on our Yelp search.
Oh! Before I forget—there is ample parking on the side of the building.
One of my gauges for a local place is how many locals are eating there. We stopped around 1PM, and a steady stream of locals filled the place before we finished our meal. And several of them paused to hug our server on their way to their booths.
Our server was fantastic, and thoughtfully offered her advice about what we should order. Her first suggestion was the Giovani, which is a ribeye steak sandwich floating with provolone and cheddar cheese, and loaded with Italian peppers. Very similar to a Philly cheesesteak. And it was magnificent! My wife also ordered the battered steak fries—and none were left behind.
I ordered a hamburger and added jalapeños. It was the perfect choice! Basic, simple, and spot on perfect! It fell apart before I could devour it, which is exactly what I was hoping for. The seasoned waffle fries were the perfect companion.
Oh—and their ranch dressing was nothing short of artwork! You won’t want ketchup! And will also be the reason you won’t have any fries left over. It’s too good to leave behind!
And, I must compliment our server. It took her all of 3 seconds to deduce we were not local and took a few minutes to tell if of the history surrounding Philippi, and gave us several pointers on what to do next. Spoiler: it will involve mummies! She even took a moment to assemble a tourist packet to help us find our way. God bless her!

We had my pappy’s 88th birthday party here. It was in the private room and they catered the food. It was great!

This place is the definition of an America diner. Sweet and accommodating staff, food was delish, fluffy pancakes, real cut potato homefrys, and strong coffee. I really enjoyed stopping here and taking in this small town in WV. so cozy and comfortable

Almost gave it 3 starts as the $6.50 breakfast buffet is livable. Don’t even bother putting the pancakes or french toast on your plate. Then I got the bill and found out that the charge $2 for a cup of coffee. Really? Perhaps the lunch items are better, but the breakfast wasn’t worth the $12 after tax and tip. A generous two stars.

The only diner left on this desolate strip of street once known as the main street of Philippi. The atmosphere is comfortable with plenty of blue booths and tables too. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating and the food was good.

Mediocre coffee, lunch buffet and a counter.
Burger was dry and omellete was very gooey with all of the melted cheese.

Just left 3 stars each for service and atmosphere, as I ordered takeout and that was my first time trying the Medallion. I’ve never stepped foot inside so can’t speak for those. However, the Giovanni sandwich gave me intense food poisoning and completely ruined my entire day, and I had to take a full extra day to recover. It was excruciating. Experiences differ but from mine I could not recommend any less.

Ordered , take out, Giovanni, onion rings, vegetables soup. It was the worst food I have ever eaten. The sandwich was soggy from butter. The onion rings were over cooked, brown a logged in heavy grease. The vegetables soup was just gross. The broth was funky, thick, gross. Vegetables soup is suppose to have a thin soupy, broth. Just gross, gross, gross.
