Had a fantastic, quiet dinner with my wife and cousin. She recommended this place and she was spot on. The restaurant is quiet, dark, and relaxing. Service was stellar, our drink orders were taken and returned quickly. Mixed drinks were tasty and poured perfectly. The food was incredible. From the 1/2 chicken to the Smokey Burger all were cooked, seasoned, and plated perfectly. The burger was cooked to a perfect medium rare as was the steak. The chicken was flavorful and juicy.

Great food and an atmosphere that allowed for conversation. A great time. Will be back again.

We used to love this place before the pandemic—it was one of our go-to spots. Unfortunately, the quality really deteriorated during the pandemic, and we decided to give it a second try recently. Sadly, the conclusion remains the same: overpriced and underwhelming food.

We ordered an $18 salad that was the size of a small appetizer, with no protein, minimal dressing, and absolutely no flavor. It was disappointing, to say the least. We also tried the grilled pork chop, which was another letdown. It wasn’t properly charred, and the sauce on it was overly sweet and unappetizing. The vegetables served with the pork chop were over-seasoned, making the dish even more unpleasant.

On a positive note, the service was good, and the decor is still lovely. However, none of that can compensate for the poor quality of the food and the steep prices. Unfortunately, this is not a place we’ll be returning to anytime soon.

You know the feeling when you open a door and are immediately transported to another place far far away from a time long long ago? This is that place. The interior is just different and will be a topic of convo the entire dinner. Service is serious. They noticed my table had a tad tilt to it and they immediate fixed it with three people coming to fix it within 3 mins. They operate like a well oiled machine. You can tell there are a lot of locals and decision makers here. You just feel cool where you’re here and your significant other will love the ambiance. This is an experience restaurant. Wherever you are in the the DMV.. this place deserves your try. Perfect first date spot if you’re trying to get lucky if you know what I️ mean.. the interior ambiance is that nice and unique!

The bread was the best, soft, hot, match with the pesto butter! The trout plate was good seasoning, vegetables were very fresh! The decoration was good as well. Great drinks. Small portions for main menu.

So they have a good burger. Nothing to write home about but it’s well made. The service was efficient.

Walked up on this place four minutes before they opened. They requested that we wait outside for a while. Perhaps to finish pre-shift. Fine.

Everything was fairly tasty. The cornmeal fried oysters were a hit with my cousin and I. The wedge salad had a tart/citrus but savory taste to it. Topped with yummy thick cut bacon. Entrees were sort of bland. I enjoyed the cauliflower purée and sprouts. However, the scallops had a rough texture to them. I’m not exactly sure why they tasted rough/dry. Usually scallops have a soft, buttery taste to them. My cousin did enjoy the lemon caper sauce. I’d say the sauce was enjoyable. We also ordered the crab cakes, please order with caution. They aren’t lump crab, if you’re a local. No pic because the dish did not look appetizing.

Reason I’m rating this place a two is because I go to restaurants for more than ambiance. I go for food and service. The server was nice and knowledgeable. He neglected to inform me that he charged me twice after we requested a split check. My cousin paid and tipped in cash. After calling the manager tonight when I noticed, she said she couldn’t find the check. I told her I can email everything to her. I asked for email address and she told me it was on the website. Second inconvenience. I went to website and there’s no email address.

There’s nothing about this place that would make me return after the manager on duty’s communication with me. Do better.

We went there with friends for dinner last night and had a great time. I had the Luna as a cocktail and ordered the chicken dish. It was really tasty. My husband had the fish and chips and enjoyed it too. Our waitress was very attentive. Definitely coming back!

The ambiance and lighting are so cozy and pretty. We come here often and are never disappointed. It’s one of my top restaurants around DC- so glad it’s in my neighborhood. The food is excellent, like the best homemade comfort food but elevated to restaurant quality. Honestly I’d take this place over a Michelin star spot any day.

Lovely neighborhood joint with a Brooklyn vibe. Laid back, excellent food and interesting art. I had the steak, and the tomato salad, both were great. My companions had the burger, carrot dip and meatballs. The meatballs were too rubbery (over-ground) but everything else was great. The carrot cake was one of the best I have had as well.

Gotta tell you that I walked by this place dozens of times and figured it was nothing special. I was amazed the first time I decided to try it! It’s not some dive bar, but actually a higher end restaurant with amazing food and a cool atmosphere.
