Great Italian Food – but beware of upcharges!
My wife and I enjoyed the daily special, which was a penne Bolognese. Nice flavors, plenty of meat in the sauce, and tender pasta. There was an extra plate charge of $3 to split the order. The pasta was $18 plus the extra $3…
The special had one free side, so I ordered a side Caesar salad and was charged an extra $2.50. Apparently on the menu is says only the house side salad is free. The extra cost of the Caesar side wasn’t a good value at all.
My wife had a Mario’s special salad, which she enjoyed. We had to remind the server to bring the salad dressing.
We began the meal with a stuffed banana peppers appetizer. The menu said they were spicy banana peppers and they were too spicy for my wife. I’d never had this dish before, so I was glad to order it and try it – but just once.
Overall – we enjoyed the food. The service was friendly but just average. And the prices were higher than they should have been after the upcharges. After splitting an entrée, taxes, and tip – and drinking just tap water – the total bill was $44.00. That’s pretty high for what we received, and we probably won’t go back.

We wanted to have a bit of comfort food without driving all the way into the city from our hotel near the airport, and this was relatively close and open somewhat late, which sealed the deal. It’s easy to miss, tucked into a small strip of shops on a dark road, so you definitely need to be looking for it. The space is large, but divided into smaller areas so it feels a bit more intimate than it looks. The food was ok, somewhat disappointing considering what we were smelling. The bread was way too greasy and garlicky, and the sauce on my entree (Mario’s Own Hot Sausage Casserole)was so watery that I had to pour it into the bottom plate before I tried to eat. My daughter’s parmigiana and pasta were very good, and the spumone and the lemon berry marscapone cake were excellent. It was a decent meal, just unfortunately not a great one.

Traditional Italian menu, family owned restaurant. Nicely plated, delicious food. Friendly, helpful waitstaff.

Recently remolded and under new ownership, I was hoping for some changes and tweaks in the menu.
They removed the wall from bar area and this gives it an open concept with a little more breathing room. A fresh coat of paint, new tablecloths and new dinnerware has given the place a fresh look.
I only go here with friends that absolutely love the place and the food. Personally I think there is other choices for Italian. I love garlic but it should never be the main ingredient.

We were on a tight schedule to have dinner before a show downtown, they were able and ready to accommodate us at short notice there was 6 in our party. I will say however the food was unacceptable to everyone at the table. Besides taking a long time to get any appetizers to the table they were cold and seemed to have been sitting waiting to be brought to our table. I not being a pasta girl ordered a filet. It came out over done ( I asked for mr or on the rarer side) it was mw when it came out I had them re cook one for me and that came out tasting like it was microwaved thus I didn’t eat it. We all know what microwaved meet tastes like. The rest of the food was eye appealing but not very tasty, the shrimp was over done on one dish and several others stated their food was basically tasteless. The portions were bigger than they needed to be, we would have rather had smaller portions and flavorful meals. We left most food behind. I gave them 3 stars for their accommodating us as well as how the food looked, the service was good but not grate. We would choose another place or a late meal instead of returning and basically wasting our money.

Food was delicious. Service was really good despite being busy and having a large party there. Hostess apologized multiple times for the slow service even though we felt it was fine and wasn’t that bad. Nice atmosphere. Garlic bread was amazing.

I purchased a decent amount of food for 30 people for a wedding shower. I ordered gluten free pasta and chicken. The gluten free pasta was incredibly dry. There was a bunch of dried out pasta with a little sauce. Everybody complained about how dry it was. We decided to stop at the restaurant and eat one evening. Same thing. We ordered gluten free pasta, which they include an upcharge of $3.00 and it was dry. I asked for more sauce and they charged me a $1.00 more. NOT RECOMMENDED!

If you want excellent authentic Italian cooking, then look no further! This is our favorite Italian restaurant that we’ve ever been to! The food is amazing and the staff is super friendly and extremely knowledgable. Their prices are really good and it’s a nice welcoming atmosphere. We’ve never had a bad experience here and we eat there quite often! They have a nice long wine list and the server can recommend a wine that pairs perfectly with your meal. We highly recommend this restaurant and we’ll be loyal customers for many years to come!

Had an absolute fabulous meal everything is made fresh and tastes Amazing. We had the fried cheese for an app. The chicken Romano and chicken parm were cooked to perfection. The portion sizes are huge and if you want dessert then you have to take some home. We will be coming back again.

Great atmosphere–dining room and bar. Relaxing; great place to come after a long day of work. Chicken Romano was awesome as was the wine special. And the rolls and real garlic butter was best. I could come back just for the wine and bread and probably will!
