I don’t even know where to start, this is the worst Jamaican place I’ve been to in all my years of living. You would think the food would be good enough to make up for the bad attitude. They lose your orders! They don’t listen! And they got horrible attitudes here! They out here giving you a pound of big dry rice with no gravy and I ask for extra it’s an issue. They gave me some curry chicken with a pound of rice and two piece of chicken on the side with MINIMAL GRAVY!!! You would think they would put up a better effort so the parking lot wouldn’t be so empty. It’s always ghost town around there and if it is somebody there it’s the family. I would rather go to prison for 10 years than to eat here again. DONT EAT HERE!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME!! DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!

After driving around Jacksonville all day trying different Caribbean spots and feeling disappointed, I finally stumbled upon Randevou Caribbean Bar and Grill—and it completely saved the day! From the moment I walked in, the vibe was amazing—great energy, hip music, and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. The service was fantastic, which was a refreshing change from some other places I visited.
I called in my order, and when I picked it up, I could tell the food was freshly made. Even after driving 28 minutes home, everything was still piping hot and delicious. I got the Tasso with Djon Djon rice, macaroni, cabbage, and plantains—every bite was packed with flavor, and the portions were so generous I was full before finishing half of it!
The only small critiques I have are:
– Drink options—I wish they had more than just soda, maybe some homemade Caribbean beverages.
– Price point—I spent around $35, and while the food was worth it, a slightly more budget-friendly option would be nice.
But overall, this place is a must-try for anyone craving authentic, flavorful Caribbean food in Jacksonville. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in a cool, clean setting. Randevou, you’ve got a new fan!

I ordered the fritay with extra marinade, and noticed the ordering system doesn’t even give an option to request extra pikliz—so I called and asked for two additional ones. Of course, when the food arrived, the extra pikliz I asked for wasn’t included. And the pikliz that did come? Dry and had no flavor. Pikliz is supposed to be spicy and zesty—not taste like plain cabbage.
My friend ordered the oxtail, and I’ll be honest—the flavor was there. But they sent two large pieces with no sauce. Oxtail needs gravy, period. Dry meat, no matter how good it’s seasoned, still ain’t right without the sauce.
When we called to let them know, the owner got defensive instead of just listening and fixing the issue. That attitude alone made everything worse. We paid for this—not asking for a favor.
The fritay? Bland. The marinade and marinad had no seasoning, no spice, no effort. And that sad little salad they keep sending with no dressing? Just leave it out. It’s not adding anything to the plate.
As a Haitian, I expect better from our food and from our service. Some of y’all need to take a class in customer service and another in flavor. Do better—because this ain’t it.

The food was authentic! It was flavorful.
Great food and service! Shout out to Ken! My goat meat was nice and soft and delicious. My mom had the turkey wings; crispy on outside and tender inside. The passion fruit drink is really good.

This spur of the moment dining decision turned out to be a 5 – Star Experience!!! The restaurant doesn’t look like much from the outside, but when you walk in….you are greeted warmly and the place is clean looking / fresh smelling!! We were given time to look over then menu and our waitress was more than willing to give us extra insight on the dishes. The food was amazing (hot, fresh & delicious), the presentation was well thought out and the serving sizes were perfect. I ordered Oxtail Stew, Cabbage, Rice & Peas with a side of plantain. Everything was perfect, but my tummy would only allow me to finish the Oxtail!!! If I were not in a hotel, I would have ordered another entrée to take home!!! To top off an amazing dining experience, the chef came out to inquiry about our experience!!! Very nice touch…
PS….The tropical drink was AMAZING the only thing that could have made it any better, would have been to have a little Vodka in my purse to add to it!!! Next time……LOL!!

Now, as a person from the Caribbean, I was very surprised at how terrible everything was at this place. My family and I get there, and I immediately notice, the table isn’t wiped down while the waitress is at the bar sitting down, but I didn’t make a scene because that wasn’t too serious to raise sand. Secondly, the waitress comes over and attempts to take our order without pen and pad…FAILED! She didn’t ask everything she needed to because she kept coming back asking questions. Now, the wait time was extra ridiculous!!! I’m 8 months pregnant, starving with a two year old girl toddler at the table. Luckily, I brought some ritz crackers to sustain me til the meal came. A good waitress would see that I’m pregnant and ensure I get my food in a timely manner. That didn’t happen. We ordered BBQ wings with fries as our appetizer, and that didn’t come until last. The fries were cooked in oil that wasn’t fresh. My two year old didn’t even eat them, and she eats everything! The fritters were over fried as they were dumb hard! The rice and peas didn’t taste freshly made for the day, but my husband’s meal was cooked ok ! He had the red snapper in which I’ve definitely had better. The waitress did not once come check up on us after we got our meal, but when we went to pay the check, which I didn’t receive, she came rushing out thinking a tip was gonna be there…NO MA’AM!! NOT ONE CENT! Never again!!

I went today for lunch. The oxtails were good, but the black rice lacked flavor to me. The reason for the two star is because the price in the menu is not the price that they charge you. The cashier could not speak English so another patron translated for me my inquiry of the price discrepancy. The cashier said there was nothing she could do about it. That’s what the manager says to charge now. Also, the service is extremely slow. I waited 30 minutes for this one plate.
