Really wasn’t sure about this place based of hearing it’s mainly elderly people. We decided to try it for something different. I was kinda surprised when I saw all the options on the menu along with the sides available to top your steak with. Photos of menu attached. As far as the service it was great. Food was very good. I see a few return trips here as there are thi he i would like to try.

This is a great restaurant. Being so old, it for sure has its flair. The waiters are great, and the food is even better. Here you can get a huge variety of American food, and it is very well suitable for a nice dinner with your family. The catfish is amazing

We hadn’t been back to Fritz’s in awhile after they seemed to have a couple mediocre nights. Finally gave them another shot recently for the old reliable Channel Cat and it was great, like the old days. We discovered a couple other ideas on the menu as well, and came back again for a steak and it was very, very good. This is one of the best restaurants in Springfield, no questions asked, and those type places are drying up quickly. Very nice service, low key in there. We will be back to try the chicken and walleye.

Every one was friendly. Was a Friday around 6pm. There were plenty of seats available inside. There was outside seating also. Was waited on quickly. Service slowed down a little after drink order. But did not get to where it was a problem. Has the BBQ shrimp appetizer. They had quite a bit of oil in the sauce which kept the sauce from coating the shrimp. They did have a good flavor. Wife had liver which she said was good. I had the grilled chicken breast with peppers, onions and mushroom and mozzarella cheese. The flavor was good if just a little over cooked. The prices were very reasonable especially for Springfield. I will go back and recommend you give them a try.

We had a good meal, I had salmon, others had steak, strip steak or sirloin. They were all done to perfection, salmon was a tiny bit over cooked to my tastes, but good. I tasted other’s steaks, found them to be a little chewy but no one else said so. Prices were good. Service slow though they were not overly busy. I’d eat there again.

Server left us a long time before even bringing water or bread, The steaks were bloody and we asked for well done. They had to be sent back twice until we were like “that’s enough”. When we complained, we were met with an attitude and the statement “We’ve served many steaks today and no one else complained! I myself had the grilled salmon and it was salty, I’ve got high blood pressure. I was very disappointed since I’m visiting Springfield and was looking for a good meal

Just tried to find a way to send a private message but there wasn’t any! I was with a group of ladies last night and 3 of us ordered a full rack of ribs and you only had 1 rack. So 2 of us each got 1/2 rack and the other person ordered something else. I must say I am always happy with the food and service when we dine there but the ribs were definitely not the ribs I have always gotten there. It was a horrible barbecue sauce. It was chunky and it seems to be mixed with cocktail sauce or something. We both hated it!!

First time visit Feb16 – nice atmosphere. There were four or five couples waiting to be seated when I arrived at 4:35, Fritz’s took too long to seat everyone,, we stood there for what seemed like a long time w/ the others. Josh the server was excellent, he went above and beyond for us. My rib eye steak was a bit disappointing, tasted like pan fried. Side salad consisted of lettuce, carrots and not much else – ranch dressing was good. Price was fair, but overall, not impressed enough to return.

My Fiancé and I were in last night for dinner and we both had the tenderloin filets and lobster, and the chicken gumbo soup. Everything was absolutely amazing. We are from out of state and were here celebrating our anniversary and happened to come across your restaurant. We are so happy we did! One of the best dinners we have ever had! Thank you!
