Stopped by on a recent road trip after checking the area for a place to stop for lunch. Saw two places with good reviews and decided on Lotties. Very disappointing. Ordered ribs with corn on the cob and sweet potato fries. The only thing that wasn’t refrigerator cold was the fries. The ribs and corn had warm spots but near the bone and cob were both cold, refrigerator cold. I don’t send things back or complain as I believe food should come out right. The restaurant was not busy at all so maybe that had something to do with it? My friend riding with me had the same experience. Food may have been good had it been warm.

Southern/Soul Food perfection!
Good Prices.
We are here visiting our son who is here for school. A self proclaimed foodie I was very excited to try the food in Alabama for the first time. We stayed first in Birmingham and tried some places that were highly recommended and featured on some shows. They were good but for me did not live up to the hype.
We checked into our hotel and headed towards the court house square in town. We checked out the sites, learned about the history of Marion, and shopped a bit so we worked up an appetite.
We stopped into Lottie’s and immediately received a warm welcome. We came for lunch. They had a lot of people ordering take out.
As guests we were treated as if we were more like friends or family.
As for the food…..again perfection.
I ordered the Chicken plate. It came with two sides of your choice and toast. The Chicken was crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. Seriously the best fried Chicken I’ve ever had. For sides I ordered the Mac and Cheese, fried okra, and added the green beans. The Mac and Cheese was rich & flavorful. The fried okra was crispy, flavorful and moist but not slimy. The greens beans were also the best green beans I’ve ever had. I could eat a whole bowl of it …..it was so tasty.
My husband rarely orders seafood at restaurants. He opted for the catfish and shrimp platter and was not disappointed. I tried some of his food as well. The seafood was cooked perfectly and was flavorful. Fried onion rings were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside.
He enjoyed it very much. We aren’t use to meals this large. It was so good we ate everything.
I wish I lived closer because I would come in at least once a week even if it meant an hour drive each way. Since we are just passing through I’m planning to come back tomorrow before heading out and for sure will head there every time we are out this way.

9.21.25.estimated earlier 12pm.. I ‘m deaf with a senior citizen mom so i come in and already got a ready order lists on the notes , presented to the man. He read it and wrote the order receipt..Also he asked my name & told me abt 15 minutes. So we were sitting and waited..It has been passed 15 minutes and also, we were skipping . Within over one hour ..we still sitting and waiting.. I feel that we are ignoring and invisible? So we decided to leave without our foods… they don’t ever bothering to look our order or asking me…. MEANS THAT YOU CAN’T READ MY WRITING OR POINTING THE MENU CARDBOARD? DIFFICULTY WITH DISABILITY PPL?

I GIVE LOTTIE OF THE SERVICE .BC WE ARE BEING IGNORED AND SKIPPING…THATS SAD MY MOM LOVES THE FOODS FROM YOUR RESTAURANT VERY DISAPPOINTING ….

Fried chicken was dry and taste like it was warmed over. Corn on cob had no flavor at all. Steak fries were pretty good.

Gem of a place in Marion, Alabama. Genuinely nice people with classic southern hospitality on full display. The food was fantastic and everything was well-prepared. Visiting the area from Chicago, it was great to find a spot where I could enjoy flavorful soul food. The homemade pound cake was delicious. Will definitely return when I’m back in the area!

My 1st time. Just was in town for my son’s baseball game. Recommend by a local. My bar b q sandwich was very good and was plenty big enough. The onion rings were also very good. Very friendly staff and priced pretty reasonable. I would eat there again for sure.

I love this little local restaurant. It is very home style dining. If you are ever in Marion, stop in. The catfish is amazing. I buy the tuna almost daily. I love the sweet potato. The staff is super friendly. They simply are worth the stop.
