Ordered the chicken katsu. and it is just chicken tender with 5 pieces. I know I can’t expect a lot in this small town, but I feel like I got a cheated and i added pic for reference. when I ordered, I just expected like one big chicken katsu, it was not even similar. if I know that I can buy in chicken tender in save mart for $6.

Prices are good. Size is great. Flavor is amazing. Should I keep going? Only complaint is the calamari was too chewy, and the pork dumpling looking things were dry and flavorless

My first experience ever was less than desirable. The staff was very unprofessional and rude and my 50.00 order was late. The rolls were falling apart and they looked like they were thrown together in a hurry. The eel sauce they put in my bag spilled all.over everything because the lids weren’t on properly. I’m an optimist and I’ve worked in the food industry so I thought what the heck, maybe they had an off day. NOPE! My second experience was even worse. The staff was rude when I called in and even went as far as to incorrectly say my name and then laughed with attitude when she told her “manager” that Cassandraaaaaa wants to speak with you. He then said hey sup….my food was once again sloppy and when I commented on it the girl at the counter said “well it happens”. I will not be going to this place a third time. Sorry not sorry.

I had a very decent lunch. Wasn’t to hungry so didn’t order more then I think I couldn’t finish. The tempura shrimp roll was pretty good as was the miso soup and gyoza. I look forward to coming by again and trying the chicken katsu when I’m more hungry

When I placed my order I was optimistic about what sushi rolls I’d get and unfortunately it wasn’t the best wasn’t wasn’t worst but could definitely be better. Besides the missing rolls we never got, the rolls that were nothing like there description, and the long hair my husband pulled outta his rice bowl and the price tag of $60 bucks.. and the employees that were more preoccupied wot flirting wit the local thots then to get the customers what the ordered.. next time I’ll just drive the 2 an a half to Turlock and get sushi from a sushi master that’s been in business for over 2 decades.. sorry not sorry..

First time coming here with the family and we honestly loved it! Sushi was delicious and everyone was very friendly! It was a little humid towards the back but not too bad. All in all, great experience and food and definitely willing to go back for more <3

I’ve been a loyal customer here since the beginning, and I’ve always appreciated the warm hospitality from Sonny and his wife—they’re truly great people and have built something special. However, I feel compelled to share some ongoing concerns that have unfortunately impacted my recent experiences.
There is a staff member named Yada who often manages the restaurant in Sonny’s absence, and over the past two years, I’ve consistently encountered challenges when she is working. While I understand that everyone can have an off day, the issues I’ve experienced seem to be recurring rather than isolated.
For example, during my most recent visit with my wife, I placed a simple order for a white tuna hand roll, which was acknowledged but not fulfilled correctly—I noticed it was a crab roll on the screen instead. I politely pointed this out without frustration. Later, I also asked for a regular tuna roll (not spicy), and she did acknowledge. But was served spicy tuna. I also asked which clear sodas were available and was told “Coke and Dr. Pepper,” which was confusing and suggested a lack of attentiveness and active listening. And I did speak clearly without rude tonality. I always say ma’am, please and thank you.
More concerning than the mix-ups is the overall demeanor. I’ve often felt that my presence and requests are met with indifference or attitude, which creates a negative dining experience. It’s disappointing because the rest of the team is always welcoming, professional, and attentive, and I know the standard Sonny and his family have set.
I want to emphasize that I’m not writing this out of anger or malice—I truly care about this place and hope to continue dining here for years to come. My hope is simply that this feedback is received constructively. I’d be more than happy to update or remove this review if there’s a noticeable change in how guests are treated moving forward.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, Sonny AND Yada.

The lady yada. The Older Mexican gal. Is very rude and is running Sonny’s business into the ground. It is sad to see. This has been ongoing for almost a year or two now. She never listens. Always gets orders wrong. And she Is very spiteful for no reason towards customers. Her actions need to be corrected or she needs to go, before this place continues to lose the valuable customers who have been coming here since before she was here. It really sucks to see this happen. Because Sonny has worked so hard to keep this place going since day one. We even did the origami event here many years ago. I hate to write this review. But I hope Sonny and his wife see this. I’m not sorry yada. But you need get your attitude fixed. You are a grown woman who acts like a child.
