I ordered a Pad Thai from this restaurant, and honestly, it was the worst one I’ve ever had. I’ve had this dish at many Thai restaurants, so I know very well how it should taste and look, and this was nothing close to a real Pad Thai.
What I got was basically bland noodles with almost no sauce, no real flavor, and barely any chicken. It felt dry, poorly made, and not appetizing at all. I paid $22 for this, and it was a complete waste of money.
I do not recommend this place at all. Out of all the Thai restaurants I’ve tried, this has been the worst, without exaggeration.

This place is great! The staff is so friendly and helpful. Love their pad Thai, so fresh and yummy. The panang curry is delicious, but I think the next time I go I’ll ask for a little less spicy. The curries also do not come with rice so you have to ask for an extra side of rice. Was a really big fan of the cream cheese puffs, but the fried chicken dumplings weren’t my favorite. Normally I’m a big fan of Thai iced tea but I felt like it was a little too concentrated.

We get take out from Basil Thai about twice a month and are never disappointed. The Pad Thai and Crying Tiger are amazing dishes, as is the Drunken Noodles & Cream Cheese Wontons. I’ve ordered well over half their menu and have liked every dish. I haven’t dined in, but the atmosphere is good and it’s always crowded, so there you go. Whether you’re dining in or ordering take out, this is a great South HB restaurant.

First timer to Basil Thai and it was quite good. The location is a small place with a dozen tables and at 5pm on a Thursday, not busy. The anchor store for this shopping center was obviously T.J.
Service was fast, english was spoken clearly at my table with I guess Thai (?) spoken behind the counter. I had Chicken Basil Thai Fried Noodle plate and Tom Yum Noodle Bowl. I could not finish it all which is a good thing for takeaway. Both have a light spicy foundation that was not overwhelming and sufficient for lighter Thai palates. As a local customer, I will return.

This hidden gem is fabulous. The food portions are”ginormous” and packed with flavor. The servers are very friendly and attentive. Whether you dine in or take out, you will not be disappointed.

Very good food ! Felt a bit rushed with only being the only couple in the restaurant and its only 8:30 and they close in a hour . But great food here .

Their take-out service is great— food has always been done within 15 minutes! We don’t go here to sit and dine often, but when we do, there isn’t anything bad and there’s always a table available because I assume most order to-go! I usually order chicken pad Thai, my favorite dish, and it tastes great here! I recently tried their mango sticky rice and wow it tastes so good— it’s nice that it came with the white sauce stuff on the side in a little bowl.

We’ve been customers for years and considered this place to be one of the best Thai places around but the last few meals have been hit or miss and tonight the orange chicken they delivered was so unappetizing that I had to call and ask for my money back. They offered me a credit for my meal but after this latest delivery I cant see myself wanting to risk another subpar dinner being delivered. See the attached photo of the gross orange chicken they delivered tonight.

This place is so authentic and affordable! They have a great lunch special and the drunken noodles were so on point. You get a lot of food for what you pay for! The owner is one of the nicest and friendliest people and makes you feel very welcome.

I ordered delivery. I received a flyer in my bushes (not sure why it wasn’t on my doorknob or mailbox) but they have free delivery so we decided to give it a try. We ordered pad Thai, Thai fried rice w/chicken, Tom Kha Soup, and cream cheese wontons. The food was still hot when it arrived and the flavors were yummy. #LocalGuides
