On a cold Saturday in February, I visited Heidelberg with my girlfriend for a date. To warm up and satisfy our hunger, we were really craving something with a hot, comforting broth—so we decided to try this place. Unfortunately, there were too many disappointments for me not to leave a review.
We started with edamame and takoyaki, but honestly it’s hard to even rate them because they simply didn’t seem properly cooked. Some of the edamame beans tasted undercooked and had a strong “raw bean” smell. The takoyaki looked like it had been cooked on a pan that was too hot—brown on the outside, but the inside (including the octopus and batter) was still cold.
Then we ordered ramen, and it was really… not good. The noodles were undercooked with a floury taste, and the broth was extremely bland—as if it had been diluted with water. Did we finish it? No, it was very difficult to eat.
Maybe we were unlucky with our orders, but even so, the food and preparation here clearly need improvement—especially considering the price. This is not a “good value” ramen compared to other Japanese ramen places. I truly hope the restaurant works on improving the cooking and overall quality.

Orizuru Ramenbar is hands down one of the best spots in Heidelberg if you’re craving authentic Japanese ramen. The broth is rich and flavorful, the noodles are perfectly cooked, and the toppings are spot on. I had the chicken miso ramen with an Asahi beer to wash it down — both were amazing. All for the price of around €15.
The staff is super friendly and the service was quick, even when it got busy. The place has a cozy, relaxed vibe, even though it’s in a mall area. Prices are fair for the quality you get, and the portions are filling.
Highly recommend — I’ll definitely be coming back!

My second time eating here. The food is delicious, the serving time is quick as well. The spicy is medium for my Asian tongue, but they have 2 different varieties of chili flakes on the desk, and this is super good! Everything is great! Will eat here again, definitely.

A great place to eat a hot ramen on a winter day. I had vegetarian ramen with Japanese plum tea on my first visit – everything was great. On the next day I came back with my sister and we had tonkotsu ramen and vegetarian gyoza. Everything was tasty, the service was fast and pleasant.

Nice place inside a shopping center. Delicious, authentic, fair prices. The tofu is unbelievable rich and soft. I took the vegan miso option (without egg) it was wonderful. Could be nice to have more fresh vegetables. I’ll look forward to visit again

I love the place and the food, but lately I’ve noticed that some of the employees manipulate the food wearing black gloves. The gloves looked very dirty, and I saw the employee touching everything with them. I hope they can improve their hygene practices, because their food is really nice.

Very delicious ramen! The other Japanese menu items also looked very good. I ordered tonkotsu ramen and I really liked the broth. The noodles also had a really nice texture. Highly recommend.
