The food here was incredible. We tried the whole fried redfish in red Thai sauce and it blew us away. The sauce was just so good, the right amount of sweet and salty. Just perfectly balanced. Loved the sauce and chilly accompaniments on the table. Highly recommend, this was the perfect dinner spot after a cold day in the Arctic ocean cruise.

The place is working later than other restaurants and it is good to have dinner when you’re finishing an evening tour. The food is quite nice, the people working there are very friendly and amazing and they also have Greenlandic choices, like the Greenlandic Sashimi.

as of July 2025 it’s the top rated Thai restaurant in Nuuk. I got the Chicken Massaman curry and it was great. Fast Service hot food.

The staff were truly lovely and made us feel welcome right away. The menu offered a wide and thoughtful selection, which made it easy to find something that appealed to everyone at the table. The rice was well prepared and flavorful, and the spring rolls were crisp and satisfying.
Unfortunately, the beef dish did not live up to the rest of the meal. The meat was very dry and had a soggy texture, which made it hard to enjoy. In hindsight, we probably should have gone with the chicken, which looked much better at nearby tables.
The atmosphere, however, was a highlight. The decorations were creative and full of personality. We especially loved the elephant sculpture lit with colorful lights and detailed patterns. It added a playful and warm touch to the space.
Overall, it was a mixed experience, but the kind service and inviting setting made it a place we were still glad to try.

This is a very good Thai restaurant in the downtown area of the Greenlandic capital of Nuuk, located between the Hans Egede Hotel and the Café Esmeralda. The food is good and delicious. The staff is friendly , helpful , and kind. The service is prompt and efficient. The atmosphere is welcoming and pleasant. The restaurant gets quite busy at dinner time and it is a good idea to book in advance. If you are in Nuuk, it is worth giving this restaurant a go

Coming from Asia, I was intrigued to find a Thai restaurant being featured as one of the top restaurants in Greenland. The prices were not cheap, but the nice decor, big servings and tasty food did not disappoint. Since I came all the way to Greenland, I ordered 2 Greenlandic specialities – Klar suppe med hval (clear soup with whale meat), and Pla Rard Krapow (Deep fried redfish fillet in soya and oyster sauce). The familiar taste of Thai herbs and spices complements the fresh taste of Greenlandic seafood very well and the fusion is a delight to the tongue. (I didn’t have a good impression of whale meat in Iceland because of a strong fishy/bloody taste, but this restaurant managed to mask the strong taste with lemongrass, chilli, whisky and other herbs/spices…) I wish I could try the other dishes, but since I was travelling solo, there was a limit to my stomach space and my wallet…
Tip: This restaurant is very popular. Arrive before 6pm to secure a table without reservations.

FYI, When you charge your bill to your credit card, the merchant name that will appear on your credit card statement is “Nuuk Cafe”, Nuuk and not Restaurant Charoen Porn.

A beautiful, Thai ambience with delicious Thai food with a Greenlandic twist. We got a platter of sushi, including whale sushi, and it was shockingly delicious! I also ordered some red fish in a lovely coconut curry that I highly recommend. My friend ordered a dessert of chocolate fondu with fruit and ice cream; the chocolate was melted and warmed with a candle in a cute dish (pictured). We also got pancakes (thick crepes, for Americans) and ice cream, which was an amazing way to finish the meal.
