Our server, Lexi (name on the receipt), never introduced herself and had a mad/annoyed expression the entire time, which made us feel uncomfortable from the start. When we asked for iced coffee, she brought hot coffee instead. Before we could even explain, she walked away. We had to flag down another server just to get her attention.
After that, we couldn’t even find her when we needed her—she seemed to disappear and stay in the kitchen, only coming out when she had a new table or something else to do.
When she finally came back, she said she “didn’t understand” that we wanted iced coffee and then asked, “So who wanted iced coffee?” — with no apology at all.
After dropping off our food, we said “thank you,” and she didn’t respond, just turned around and walked away. She only came to our table three times total: to drop drinks, drop food, and drop the check. No check-ins, no service, no professionalism.
Because of the service alone, I would not come back to this location, even though the food is good. Service like this completely ruins the experience.
Unfortunately, our service experience fell short. Our server came across as unkind and frustrated during several interactions. The coffee we were initially served was lukewarm, almost cold, and when we politely asked for a fresh caraffe, the request was met with disbelief rather than understanding. We also had to ask multiple times for water, and it was ultimately a colleague who brought it to the table.
The food was also underwhelming. I ordered a melt, but the cheese was not melted and the dish seemed hastily prepared. Additionally, although the restaurant was not particularly busy, we felt rushed throughout the meal and toward the end of our time there.
Because I’ve enjoyed other First Watch locations, this experience was surprising. Unfortunately, both the service and food at this branch fell noticeably short of expectations. I hope management will take this feedback seriously, as there is clear potential for improvement.
We had to wait a bit as the checkout line continued to grow with customers finishing up and wanting to pay & leave. We grabbed a waitress we saw and asked her to assist, she declined and stated “the hostess will seat you when she’s done”. So we wait…another customer comes in after us asks us if we’ve been waiting, talked about the long check out line and stated she would asked one of the waitresses to assist, we explained to her that we tried that as well but she was free to try. Well what do you know, the customer behind us flagged a waitress, she asked for help with getting us seated and she responded immediately…hmmm….we were seated and able to order. It was pretty chilly sitting under a vent so we changed tables. I was underwhelmed with the entire experience. Our waitress was okay, my sandwich came out wrong, I don’t eat pork and they definitely bought me a sandwich with ham…it was replaced but meh, I think I will need a do over at this establishment because I’ve heard/read some good reviews. The tomato basil soup was not as creamy as I’d like but it was okay, chunky but okay. The silver lining was the lemon blueberry cornbread, it was yummy but not piping hot as the server indicated. As stated, I’ll need to go back and try this again at a later date.
