I can’t say enough good things about Boca Grande Taqueria on First Street in Cambridge! This place is an absolute gem and my go-to spot for an incredible, satisfying meal.
From the moment you walk in, the service is great—fast, friendly, and you get to watch them build your food right in front of you, which I love. The efficiency makes it a perfect lunch choice, even when they’re busy.
Now, let’s talk about the food. The burritos are huge and packed with fresh ingredients!
I’m a big fan of the Chorizo Burrito and the Chicken Ranchero; the meats are perfectly seasoned, juicy, and have a depth of flavor that’s hard to find elsewhere. They even grill the tortilla slightly, which adds a nice touch and keeps everything together perfectly. The salsa is fresh, with a great amount of cilantro and the right kick of heat.
Portion sizes are incredibly generous, offering great value for the price (around $10-$20 for a substantial meal). The casual, vibrant atmosphere with colorful decor makes it a pleasant place to dine in, though it’s excellent for takeout as well.
If you’re in the Cambridge area and looking for top-notch Mexican food, you won’t regret stopping by Boca Grande Taqueria! It’s a fantastic culinary experience that consistently delivers on flavor and value.
Have been getting burrito bowls from this place for lunch whenever I have a healthy appetite. Orders are always ready within 5 minutes, and the pickup process is a breeze. The portion sizes are good for the price, and I especially enjoyed their chicken burrito bowls. While a lot of their protein options taste a bit flat, their chicken toppings add a smack of umami and a hit of acid that makes the bowl more flavorful. Chicken ranchero and verde are my favorites, and they taste good even without any additional toppings or sauces.
Overall, they may not be the best taqueria around the city, but is still a decent alternative to other Mexican fast food chains.
I’ve told myself I wouldn’t come here anymore, and as of today I will not be going again. I have been coming here since 2007/8, much earlier than the people currently working there. I would routinely see the owner who was extremely pleasant. The newbies, not so much.
Get some manners, please.
Got the tofu taco and the red chili Verde tofu burrito. I think the burrito was pretty good and as you’d expect. I like having tofu as an option and I think that tasted really good. I think if I ate inside and had hot sauce, it would have tasted a lot better. Asked for hot sauce inside, but it tasted a bit bland… Would be an easy fix if there was more hot sauce inside the burrito
The taco was pretty soggy despite picking it up almost immediately. It was hard to eat and the paper it was wrapped in also got soggy and made it hard to pickup.
I’d give this another shot with indoor seating after
Fresh and tasty food, good size portions, good service, good value.
Very good experience 🙂
