I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this experience was completely warranted to share, and I genuinely hope it’s something the restaurant can learn from and improve moving forward.
Came in on a Saturday night. It was fairly busy, but not overwhelmingly so. My boyfriend and I stopped in before a movie for a quick bite, which unfortunately turned into a frustrating experience.
We waited almost an hour for our food while our server completely avoided our table. She dropped off our drinks, took our order, and never returned. No check-in, no update, nothing.
Eventually, one server noticed us and stepped in to help, and it truly felt like she was carrying the entire place on her back. My boyfriend explained the situation, and she went to get our bill and had our food taken off, food that we never even received. We still have no idea what happened to it.
As we were leaving, they offered us the food, but at that point we no longer wanted it. The manager never came over to speak with us or address the situation.
That one server was great, as was the host. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was completely unprofessional.
As someone who grew up in the service industry, I’m very unimpressed and won’t be returning.

Chuck’s Roadhouse, to be honest, it wasn’t the best experience. Our server was super polite, but she had to push her way through a group of older, loud, drunk guys just to get to the patio. The patio itself wasn’t much better—cheap chairs and picnic tables that weren’t very comfy. The burger was a clearly premade frozen patty, which was very underwhelming. The fries came out completely unsalted, and there was no salt, other condiments, or drink menus for that matter on the table. After bringing our food, we didn’t see our server again for about 25 minutes. We quickly paid and left. On our way out unfortunately we had to push through the drunken crowd again. Unfortunately will not be visiting this restaurant again. On the plus side, the meal was really cheap. Overall, not a great experience, but our server and the rest of the staff we encountered were very polite and kind.

Once we were seated, no service for sometime though there was lots of staff and not many customers. The tables weren’t set( I have been to many different locations in my travels). Once our order was placed it took a long time…still no cutlery….when our food came we had to search other tables for cutlery as our server hadn’t provided any!! My favorite dish was cool and dry as was my other family members dishes. Our server was not available. Chucks in Peterborough is the worst! It makes me value my service at my own local location

I was really disappointed with my experience here. We asked for a regular table but were told we had to sit on the bar side due to “limited staff.” Strangely, the group that arrived right after us was seated at a table immediately and even received their drinks before anyone had approached us at all.
We waited for over 30 minutes without a single staff member checking in, taking our order, or even acknowledging us. After half an hour of being completely ignored, we decided to leave and take our business elsewhere.
Unfortunately, this visit left a very poor impression.

I have to say that I am truly disappointed in my experience with chucks peterborough. Some of the parents from our hockey team were looking to have a couple of beverages before our children played their game on Sunday February 15th.
Firstly we were not served, someone that was behind us was served first and then we were turned away after we told the hostess we were not eating food and we were only looking for a few drinks, we were still tuned away and told we could go down the street to Kelsey’s. Furthermore as we were waiting to be denied service we witnessed another customer eating their meal while they were able to have their dog at the table. Since the when are animals allowed in a restaurant?
This is truly disappointed as we frequent chucks as a family and as a team.

I came to this place to give it a shot. I would have been a regular who spends about 5k a year.
The bartender was slow. After taking her sweet time to serve me a second time, she noticed that I was looking for a third. She kept glancing over at me and ignoring me while she served other regulars who came in after me, and served another of other tables that came in after me as well. There were other floor staff just standing therr doing nothing.
I ended up sitting at the end of the bar for 30 minutes, looking like an idiot, trying to get someone to serve me.
Where I usually go is the Keg. Their service is prompt, the place is way nicer. I regret giving this place a chance, suffice to say at the least I discovered their service is poor.

We were there with our hockey team today for lunch. They were able to accommodate a very large group of us with a reservation before hand, food for 44 of us didnt take long due to excellent organization before hand and the servers were kind. I would have thought the previous reviews were talking about another restraunt as it was the exact opposite of our experience. Would definitely recommend Chucks if you’re looking for a place to eat.

Saturday September 27 We were in from Ottawa to visit family. We went to try out your restaurant as we heard good things. It was around 5pm and it wasn’t to busy. We ordered three meals which consisted of a Sirloin steak medium rare with fries. I had heard you get the same steaks as the Keg, if that’s true you get the ones they reject! The corn that came with the meal tasted like canned corn from Loblaws yellow label. Second entrée was Chicken Parmesan. The chicken was tasty and cooked through, spaghetti was overcooked, and the sauce was like what you get in cans of Alpha-Getti. Third meal was Buffalo Chicken sandwich and fries. It was very tiny, not as big as we expected, unless you have something similar on the kids menu. The waitress was very friendly and coincidentally she was originally from Ottawa. Overall, the food wasn’t very good, tax and tip was about $120 for three not very good for our dollar value. Next time in Peterborough we will choose someplace else to eat.

We have been frequent flyers at chucks. We haven’t been in a while and decided to stop in. They have changed their food. I ordered the chicken strip meal as I always do , and unfortunately they have changed their strips. Im assuming to save money. But the strips were literally the compliments brand with not even real chicken in it. The waitness was fast, efficient and kind. I noticed the place was empty compared to what it used to be. Unfortunately. Won’t be going back.
