My husband and I came in for our first visit to the 1832 Tavern for Valentine’s Day and were totally blown away by the food. We had their Valentine’s special, four courses for $60 which was an amazing deal. Old Fashioned was performing and he was lovely and not too loud so we could still talk. Would love to know where we can find him on socials to see him perform again. Service did get a little clunky as the dining room got busier and the tables were very close together which felt a little odd. Overall was an incredible meal and we will definitely be back!

The 1832 just had its reopening. Went to have dinner twice this week. It’s a good place, with great staff and good food and drinks. Had the cease salad (a bit dry), the Fried calamari (delicious), the pork shank (EXQUISITE) and a deliciously prepared dry gin martini. Stop by on your next trip around Newfane, VT.

We were treated like welcome guests. The steak fritte was savory and satisfying. Sat by the fire while we waited for our dinner. Loved the whole experience and can’t wait to return.

We arrived later than planned due to the timing of a play we attended, but a staff member who happened to be outside was very accommodating and understanding about our late arrival. That first impression was great. The atmosphere inside was cute and very charming. Since it was later in the evening and not too busy, I expected quicker service, but it was surprisingly slow. We started with calamari, which was excellent, and stuffed mushrooms. Unfortunately, the mushrooms were undercooked and tasted raw, though the stuffing itself was flavorful.
For dinner, I ordered steak frites but substituted mashed potatoes for the fries. The dish also came with yellow summer squash. The steak was very bland and lacked any seasoning—I had to ask for steak sauce just to add some flavor. The vegetables were also overcooked. My husband ordered the mushroom ravioli, but it was completely buried under a mountain of mushrooms, making it difficult to even see the ravioli.
Overall, the experience was disappointing. While there were some highlights, like the calamari and the staff’s kindness, the food itself fell short. I might consider giving the restaurant another chance, but this visit left me underwhelmed.

4 Columns Inn in Newfane is a lovely quaint Inn. Extremely welcoming and warm atmosphere. Our room and bed was very comfortable. The staff are friendly and social, especially Bridget, James and Bob. The owner was there one night reading by the fireplace. He told to help myself to any of the books and take them home! We are looking forward to going back soon!

Our takeout food was very good. Unfortunately, I didn’t receive my garlic bread with my spaghetti and meatballs. Also, it would be great to be able to order online

We had a lovely dinner on the patio with a fantastic calamari appetizer, beet arugula salad and the pork lollipops, which were just a little dry, but still tasty. The service was great and very accommodating as we had a time crunch due to an event we were attending.

We were in town for a wedding celebration at the Union Hall. We were able to park our car at the Inn and easily walk to the function .
We had breakfast the first morning that we were at the Inn and service was great and food was cooked to perfection
