This was my choice after father daughter ball ! Wow! We were blown away! Service- we were greater and seated by nice and friendly host, despite it being Valentine’s Day.
Love how everything is thought to details. Wall and ceiling decoration – everything is top notch!
The server girl also nice and helped us to make our choices .
We had beef tartare , salad and roasted beef with shrimps! Finished with crème brûlée !
Will definitely come back with my wife for some special occasion or a date!
Thank you for your nice hospitality and delicious food!

I had a great solo lunch here, sitting at the bar. Service was fabulous. Loved the deviled eggs, and the jam and cornichon sandwich + soup combo.

I was lucky and found street parking. Drinks weren’t cheap. Recommend happy hour, where there are deals on food and drinks.

I took my wife for her birthday. The service was incredible, our server was attentive and gave good suggestions on meal choices. We had steak frite’s, and the cauliflower steak. The food was cooked to perfection and presentation was very nice. The atmosphere was nice and festive. We will definitely be back.

Ate here for restaurant week. They offered a great menu special and delicious drinks for a really good price.

We got the beat salad, and Caesar, and the Rainbow trout and NY strip for our entrees. Portions size was the perfect amount of food. I wouldn’t expect anything less from. French bistro.

The salads were delicious and the NY strip was also tender and delicious. The rainbow trout was good but I could have done without the mountain of croutons on top. I didn’t prefer the crunch texture with the fish. But the fish was tender and cooked perfectly.

For desert we got the mouse. Great ending to the meal. Rather than a rich chocolate; it was a dark chocolate mouse with an espresso taste. It was a very good choice for a semi-sweet desert that was not too rich.

Overall great food, great atmosphere, great service. DJ took very good care of us and was extremely attentive. I know there were some iffy reviews out there when they first opened but I’m excited to see things have gotten better! Very excited to come back to try their regular menu and other dishes that folks are raving about.

I was beyond excited to try this place for the first time. As of today, I have dined twice at Chouette. The food in my opinion is phenomenal. The portions your receive for the price point is appropriate and even generous in some cases. The duck is exceptional and leaves almost nothing to be desired. The starters and side dishes are also winners from what I’ve had the chance to try, and again, would say are priced appropriately. The service I’ve have had has been good. Nothing so exceptional as to have made the experience on its own, but good. The waitress and the bar staff are friendly, trained to explain the menu, and offer decent table service. The pacing and timing could be improved upon, but nothing so bad as it ruins the experience. The only real downfall is the atmosphere. Lack of a vestibule, lack of ambient lighting, very close together tables make it a little bit rough to really enjoy the full experience the food, service, and beverage program have to offer.

Let me start by saying that giving Chouette 3 out of 5 stars feels generous. Overall, I was not impressed and felt it did not live up to the hype or expectations. The food quality was below average—especially at this price point. The cost simply did not align with the quality of the dishes, and the experience was disappointing. I would not recommend Chouette, nor do I plan to return.

We arrived on a Saturday at 5:30 p.m. with a reservation for two. Upon entering, the space felt extremely cramped. The restaurant is quite small, and everything is packed tightly together. Fortunately, we were seated about 10 minutes after arriving. The host was very friendly and welcoming. We were placed at a tiny high-top table in the back of the restaurant, right next to the stairs and adjacent to the kitchen—an awkward and uncomfortable spot.

About 15 minutes later, our server brought us some bread, which ended up being the highlight of the meal—it was genuinely delicious.

For the appetizer, I had the French Onion Soup. Unfortunately, it was underwhelming. As a signature item in a French restaurant, I expected much more—it was average at best.
For my entrée, I chose the Rainbow Trout Grenobloise. The trout was served skin-on and was extremely thin, making it difficult to separate the fish from the skin. While the flavor was decent, the texture and presentation made it feel like a leftover offcut rather than a thoughtfully prepared dish.

I also sampled the Potato-Crusted Salmon, which was bland and lacked even basic seasoning. It was, frankly, mediocre.

For dessert, I tried the Fraises Melba and the Vanilla Crème Brûlée. Both were fine, but again, nothing memorable. I would consider them average to below average in quality.
While the service was fine overall, the food failed to meet expectations. Honestly, the dishes reminded me of what you might find at casual dining chains like Ruby Tuesday, Olive Garden, or Applebee’s—not what you expect from a restaurant with such a high-end image, especially when the final bill came to over $200 for two people.

Lastly, I was surprised to find additional charges on the bill: a “Culinary Service Fee (1.50%)” and a “CNV Charge (1.80%).” These were not disclosed anywhere on the menu or mentioned beforehand. I believe transparency is essential, and such surcharges should be clearly stated upfront.

A Couple Drinks
We were super excited to go to Chouette and were really hoping to give them a five-star. However, the wait was the issue, and the pacing felt a bit off.

It took about 10 minutes for our server to acknowledge us, and once we ordered drinks, they took another 15-20 minutes to arrive.
One of our appetizers came out before the drinks, and then we waited another 15 for the second one.

The food itself was solid.
For appetizers we ordered the gougères, which were light and fluffy, and the silky smooth chicken liver mousse, that really lived up to the name and it was perfectly balanced with the saltiness of the bread.

For mains, we had the Authentic Bouillabaise Marseillaise and the Celentani Pasta, and Ratatouille as a side dish. Both were super flavorful, rich and satisfying.

For dessert, we ordered the Fraises Melba and it was delicious!

We might give it another try in the future.

My husband and I attended the Diana Krall show at the Palace Theatre. After the show, we went to Chouette for the first time and had a wonderful experience with Jessica behind the bar and Jen, the manager. We were warmly welcomed on a bitterly cold night. I appreciate their gracious hospitality. We shared an order of the mussels and fries- for an appetizer. we had the marinated olives. Also, I had a wonderful dirty martini that the manager made herself. Wonderful experience all around. Can’t wait to go back for happy hour. Thank you, Jen and Jessica, for making our date night truly special.

Overall I enjoyed my visit at Chouette! Alana the bartender suggested we get the trout, salmon and the steak frites and everything was delicious. If your looking for a place to bring friends family for awesome experience and service this was a great choice for my sisters birthday. The ONLY thing i can say could have been better is the cleanliness in the bathroom but no big deal. I will be back to try happy hour for next time
