Beautifully curated southwest bar sitting on the second floor of the iconic Don Luis Plaza in Old Town Albuquerque, New Mexico. Our expansive patio is by far the best place to view of Old Town. Our friendly staff serves guests a great selection of local craft beer, wine, ciders and a curated menu of signature craft cocktails, including specialty margaritas and old fashioneds.

From the moment we walked in Federico greeted us and served us some exquisite drinks. The menus were perfectly placed. He was relieved by Lyric who was a real pleasure to be around. They both offered a welcoming environment that felt unique to us. We’re traveling from Texas. Rodolfo and Tiani, the leadership, were very present. Eliza also came in a little later, she’s also dope. Next time we’re in town we will be back.
PS. Do karaoke.

Located in the heart of Albuquerque’s Old Town district Outpost 1706 offers a refreshing assortment of craft cocktails and local beers. The bartenders were friendly and quite skilled at making an old fashioned. The bar is located upstairs and offers a shaded view of the old.town sqaure. Arrive before 4 pm on the weekend to have the best seats for parks live performances across the street. No food was served when we visited (beyond craft popcorn and chips, both very good) but rumor has it Sangwiches (sandwiches )will soon be on the menu. 100% recommended for a quick high quality cocktail during an old town shopping spree.

Amazing experience! The managers were awesome, the bar staff was impeccable, and overall it was a 20/10 experience. If you enjoy sitting outside, it’s even better. It was my first time in New Mexico, and the hospitality truly made me feel right at home.
Staff Honorable mention – Federico, lyric, Eliza, Tiana and Rodolfo!

We stopped in on an overnight through Albuquerque and really enjoyed it. The bartenders were friendly, attentive, and helpful and made fantastic cocktails. We had a NM whiskey flight to finish the night. Great views of the square and the thunderstorms rolling in. Loved the vibe – I’ll be back!

We really enjoyed a couple of hours here on a Monday afternoon. The balcony seating looks nice but as it was 100 degrees outside we opted for the nicely air conditioned interior seating. It’s light and bright inside with various seating options. The 3 staff members were super friendly and welcoming and happy to share information. There were a few Downshift beers available and many other local taps. My husband is a stout drinker and really enjoyed the Irish Currency. There is also a nice wine list and various cocktails made with local wine and spirits. I highly recommend the White Sangria, it was absolutely amazing! There’s also local Vigil’s chips and local popcorn for snacks too.

I’ve come here a handful of times, but I’m definitely not a big drinker. I came in with some friends & asked the bartender if they had apple cider & she responded “Yes.” I asked for one & she kind of rudely said “that’s a sparkling.” I thought sparkling drinks had alcohol in them, so I agreed to the drink. My friend politely asked how much alcohol was in it, and the same bartender very rudely said “you ordered an apple cider.” I’m pretty reserved & wish I would’ve explained that I’m not a very big drinker & didn’t realize that sparklings didn’t have alcohol in them, and that there really was no reason to be rude.

Nice spot semi hidden on 2nd floor in the beautiful, quiet & quant Old Town area of Albuquerque, NM.
Pretty good local NM whiskey, beers and cocktails @ fairly decent prices.
Staff was semi stressed and or rushing, yet nice enough and made a quality old fashion their own way as well as were open to doing the 2nd Old Fashion per my request
After two double shots & 30 min to closing (10:30 pm) we safely walked the entire neighborhood to take in the scenery to which we thoroughly enjoyed!

We recently hosted a graduation celebration at Outpost 1706, and it was absolutely perfect! Kristen and the entire bartending staff went above and beyond to make the event special. They were so accommodating to our needs, ensuring everything ran smoothly from start to finish.
The location itself is unbeatable—spacious, charming, and centrally located, making it easy for all our guests to enjoy the celebration. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff’s professionalism and friendliness truly stood out.
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and are already looking forward to hosting future events here. Thank you, Kristen and the Outpost 1706 team, for making our celebration so memorable!

Heard about this place though a local recommendation and was pleasantly surprised! They have many house and local beers on tap, a great selection of liquor, and a small menu. The atmosphere is open and welcoming with plenty of seating both inside and on the balcony to view the town square. The staff is friendly and they are dog friendly. I’ll be back when I’m in town again!

Enjoy the local brews, both guest and in-house. Mixed drinks feature local spirits too. My general rule of thumb, however, is that you enjoy the specialty of the establishment you’re in, and it applies here. The beer tops the cocktails imo.
Hang out and play classic games. If you’re hungry, order food from the winery downstairs or the BBQ across the square in the corner. The balcony can get crowded, but the inside is lovely and open with plenty of space.
