This is genuinely the best most authentic Mexican food in Utah. Not only is the food truly amazing, the family that runs this restaurant just makes your experience complete. They are so sweet, personable, and will do anything to make sure you love your meal and experience. The food was so authentic, and made with generations of experience and hard work, and the best tasting Mexican food I’ve ever had. We got the Picada Combo, as well as the homemade horchata and aguas frescas and were amazing! GO TO THIS RESTURANT!!!

When I say this is the best Mexican restaurant in Utah I mean it. Incredible service and food. The family that owns this place are the sweetest and most wholesome people. They truly are the heart of this place and the food being phenomenal is just a perk to being in such a family-friendly and welcoming environment!! El Puerto just opened here in Sandy about 2 weeks ago, but was previously in West Valley. How lucky for us! The food here was excellent, and the atmosphere is so inviting and lively. Herminio and his wife Ari were great hosts, telling us the history of the restaurant and offering recommendations on dishes they liked or were what would traditionally be eaten. We got the Picada Combo plate (with beef as our protein) and the Birria. The picada in particular was excellent, so many different flavors. Check out this place, support your local business. We will definitely come back!

As we were eating all of this delicious food, there were people walking by, looking in through the window. I wanted to invite them all in to taste the delicious food because they clearly did not know what they were missing. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and delicious! The gorditas and empanadas were our favorites out of everything we had! They were so sweet and kind as well. Definitely an atmosphere we would love to go back to!

Found this on google. Hesitant to try since it’s located in the swap-meet. I thought it would be crowded and loud. When we got there we realized, it’s a separate suite. I’m so glad we trusted the reviews. The food was amazing, authentic. Been a while since we ate out and we loved the food. Service was great the owners are friendly and you can tell they love what they do! We loved the food, the horchata with coffee, agua de piña. Very well priced compared to all the Mexican food on the east side! Hidden gem! 10/10

ORIGINAL and AUTHENTIC Mexican recipes. Delightful variety of delicious dishes. Comfort Mexican Food you won’t find anywhere else. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the service. Owners very attentive to detail and service. They have a variety of homemade sauces and horchata flavors. I’ve been looking for enchiladas suizas and green creamy spaghetti and finally found it here. My favorite spot . I recommend it %. Perfect spot for date night.

Came with our family on Feb 1,2026 and honestly one of the best experiences at a restaurant we have ever experienced. Food is amazing!!!! Service was excellent!!!! I would recommend this place to anyone that loves the authentic flavor of Mexican food but in specific Veracruz flavor food. The owners are very friendly and welcoming!!! Had an amazing family time.

Exactly what I’m looking for in a Mexican restaurant: family recipes, regional cuisine, and from scratch cooking passionately done. We had Picadas and empanadas and they were perfect. There were dishes on the menu that I had never heard of. The owners are very nice and It’s clear they love their craft. This is some of the best Mexican food in SLC. Can’t wait for the new location.
