Also worth noting: the Buffalo wings were a strong sidekick. Solid flavor, and cooked just right. Would go back for both.
The service was excellent, restaurant was beautiful (with tons of decor, tv’s, etc.), and the food/drinks were delicious. I got the Classic Breakfast and really enjoyed it but the bread (coated in olive oil/salt) was a little too salty for me.
Plenty of seating inside and outside and a really great place for happy hour or a meal. They also have a big takeout booth if you can’t find a seat. Free street parking, but can be difficult to find on weekends.
Thank you all for a great first experience, can’t wait to be back!
Update: I came back for dinner and it was very good but not great. I recommend their focaccia appetizer warm or toasted, and their marinara sauce a bit more tasty/seasoned. Eggplant parm was phenomenal, gnocchi was tasty and well proportioned, cocktails excellent as before.
3rd update…tonight I tried the 4 cheese ravioli. Sauce is tasty! Perfect balance of cheeses.
I’m updating a previous review…I was lucky enough to enjoy the December special braised beef and ricotta ravioli. Keep ones like these coming !
Stopped by to grab a slice for lunch today. Slices are Detroit style and New York style. I had a slice of the Detroit pepperoni. It took several minutes for them to bring it out, so it was nice and warm right out of the oven.
The ambiance of the restaurant was casual and laid-back, which made for a comfortable dining experience. However, the service was just okay – nothing to write home about, but nothing particularly bad either.
Overall, Piece Out Del Ray is a decent spot to grab a slice of pizza, but I wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way to visit again. The Piece Out Pizza was good, but the Detroit Style Pizza didn’t quite live up to expectations. The frozen Tiramisu was also a letdown. However, if you’re looking for a casual atmosphere and okay service, it might be worth checking out.
Spicy pizza was ok, and they also liked the shrimp appetizer.
I had a nice size piece of salmon cook well with vegetables, just needed more seasonings or a sauce 2 go with it.
It’s a cozy place where you can play darts and shuffle board in a good neighborhood.
