After a long day of driving and most eateries closing at 8 in West Jefferson, we were very grateful for Thong Summit being able to serve us a hot and fresh dinner with refreshing Thai teas at 8 pm. Pictured is the signature fire hot fried chicken. It was more savory with some kick and very delicious. Only hiccup – Our shu mai initially came out cold in the middle but they kindly refired.

What a surprise to find quality sushi in Ashe County. The building is old but the Bantam Chef was a Ashe County staple. Crab Rangoons were not the standard frozen you find at 90% of asian restaurants. I wish we would’ve ordered double because 4 wasn’t enough. We had the Philly roll, Spicy Shrimp roll and the Jefferson roll. All were great. Save room for the desserts. My wife ordered the Fried Banana Egg rolls and liked it but the star dessert was definitely the Fried Cheesecake. Like eating a big funnel cake stuffed with a huge piece of cheesecake .

The green curry I had was pretty good and a nice spiciness (even though they didn’t ask how spicy I wanted it). The bowl it came in wasn’t big enough for it and kept spilling out. This could be partly due to the chicken being set on top, cut into strips so I had to cut it into bite-sized pieces to eat it. The sushi was mid as it tasted like they didn’t season the rice at all. Waitress was nice and helpful; drinks were refilled often and empty plates taken away. Atmosphere wasn’t great as it was cold outside and every time the door was opened lots of cold air came in. My feet and legs ended up very cold by the end of the meal. Also, the prices are a bit steep. I’d probably give another star and dine in again if prices were a bit better.
So, in short, I’d recommend for takeout Thai food. But for sushi I’d rather drive to Boone and get it from Sabeing.

This place is more of a sushi place than it is a Thai place. I made the mistake of getting Thai food. Although the curry is phenomenal, but I don’t find the idea of grilled chicken sitting on top of the curry appetizing. It should be properly marinated into the curry. But that being said their sushi rolls look phenomenal. I’ll definitely go back and try.

A nice little restaurant right off the main street of West Jefferson. We were greeted with a smile and hello. Service was great and relatively fast, granted there were few people in the restaurant, but you could hear they were taking orders over the phone. The food was fresh, delicious, and presented nicely! Not a lot of parking nor seating inside, but a wonderful place to enjoy a good meal. Try it out.

This is the CUTEST little sushi place I have ever seen. The atmosphere felt upscale and carefully put together, but also vintage and quaint. They have the sweetest outdoor seating area as well with booths, and draped with Edison-style string lights. We ordered to-go and got two appetizers and three rolls and it was about $70. Definitely more food than the two of us were able to finish, but all of it was tasty. The biggest compliment I have is for the steamed dumplings with the dipping sauce. They tasted like the most authentic ones I’ve had in a long time. It feels like this restaurant really cares about their food and their service.

Very good sushi! Papaya salad could use some work and some of the sushi was too big and a bit bland. Other rolls were excellent. Nice atmosphere. Bring cash though, they charge 3.85% on card transaction. Need to put that sign by entrance not by bathroom. Bathroom was very small and NOT handicap accessible. Also, please get a better exhaust system. The burned oil from the kitchen area can be smelled from dining area. Unappetizing. A bit overpriced but no need for a long drive to get sushi. Will try again soon.

We’re locals. Decided to go and try the new restaurant in town. It’s damn good food! It’s a little pricey, but you get excellent flavor, quality and quantity! Great customer service too. We’ll definitely be going back

Thank you for being open during our winter storm. Thong roll, spring rolls and crab Rangoon were all fabulous. Sushi is fresh. Sake was delicious. Server was so sweet, funny and helpful. 10/10

We love this place! At first we thought “Sushi in the mountains? Nah.” But we were pleasantly surprised! Now it’s our go-to Wednesday night out option! Their Thai basil fried rice is to die for!
