First time at Kings Head Pub. Wanted to see if it was a good replacement for Jameson’s Tavern which closed last year.
Good news! I think it may even surpass.
It’s the same cozy, friendly atmosphere with attentive servers. The cooks certainly don’t disappoint either.

The King’s Head Pub was a stop on my visit to Maine, and oh my word!! This South Carolina girl LOVED it! The food, the drinks, and the place itself was amazing! (The poutine, chef’s kiss!)

The most unique fish and chips I’ve had.
The breading was crispy yet soft underneath. It was a layer of some kind of dough. Complemented each other very well.
I’ve never seen this cut of fries/chips. Crispy yet just thick enough to give that potato mouth feel.
It all came with home made tartar sauce.
You have to try this place if passing by.

We have never had bad food or service here yet and we are here at least twice a week. Amazing food! Best Guinness draft in a 30 mile radius. We love Jen T so much behind the bar. The entire staff is amazing and pours a mean Guinness !

As long-time residents of Freeport, we are really pleased with the new Kings-Head Pub, and what they have done with the old Jameson’s Tavern. The menu is a nice mix of varied dishes, and we love their haddock bites appetizers and dinner plate alike. The haddock/clam chowder is so warming, and great fish taste. Their french fries are the best ever, slices of potatoes done perfectly – crispy, salted just right, and one of our favorite side’s. The Grilled Braised Kings Roast is such a delightful warming meal – the meat so tender, with perfect mashed potatoes, green beans, and beer gravy. Finally, the grilled salmon was done just perfectly – not often easy to do – and always a delightfully light but satisfying meal. In short, a good menu, great seafood, and just a super comfortable environment to relax your day away.
Lastly, Kudo’s to the staff. Jen the bartender carried over her professional and caring ways from Jameson’s to here, and we are so glad she did. She has such natural talent with her job, perfect timing in our opinion, and no matter the size of the crowd, never seems to miss a beat with any of the customers. Even though we sit at the bar to eat, we also are now getting to watch and know other staff as well (shout-out to Vienna here), and are so impressed with their welcoming approach, their attention to detail, and their true interest in customer satisfaction.
We wish this new culinary experience in Freeport much luck, and are hopeful based on our initial experiences, that they will do well in the months and years ahead.

Great food and great personality! We had Erin C. as our waitress and she provided one of the most memorable dining experiences we’ve ever had. The food alone is amazing, but her service is well deserving of a 5 star review. Would definitely recommend and will certainly be returning!

Menu is solid pubfare, had almost the lot and haven’t ordered a bad round yet. Seafood stands out (homemade tartar is great) but dont sleep on the chicken sandwich! The special burger sauce kicks it up another level.

Really enjoyed our experience at King’s Head Pub! Food was excellent, service was flawless, and atmosphere was exactly what a British Pub should be. Our server (Vienna) was very friendly, attentive, and helpful – she was a delight! The food was freshly prepared – not the typical Cisco frozen and reheated crap that most restaurants seem to be these days. We thought it was great! Well done!

We were in for a quick drink and app around lunch time! We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip (note to self…if you like bread instead of chips with the dip order it with the “Muscle bread”. UHMAZING!!! It’s creamy, hot and delicious. We sat at the bar and Britney was FANTASTIC! She greeted us right away, brought us our drinks and had our food to us in a very timely manor. I’ll be back again…and again and again.
