Walked in and was greeted by 2 young ladies. I paid at the reception area and took a booth. This was a buffet with a nice selection of fish and seafood. They also had a salad bar, other traditional southern sides, and dessert. I especially enjoyed the seafood gumbo, fish tacos, fried shrimp, baked fish, and Cajun fried fish. For the sides I recommend the sliced carrots, cream corn, Mac&cheese, and mashed potatoes&gravy. For dessert they have several different cobblers and ice cream. The service was excellent as several staff members checked in on me. Bella was especially helpful and friendly during my visit. Overall great place to relax and enjoy southern food buffet for a good price. While dining here I especially enjoyed the head mounts on the walls.

I was excited to try this place on a double date with my hubby and parents, especially for the $56 all-you-can-eat crab legs. Unfortunately, the food was a letdown. The crab legs were wildly inconsistent—dry in one batch, cold in another, then overly salty, bland, and finally one good serving after all that. Definitely not worth the price for that kind of inconsistency.
Other buffet items didn’t fare much better. The coleslaw was bland and dry, and the grilled fish was forgettable. The broccoli salad was overly sweet, almost like a dessert, and the greens were so spicy that they were hard to enjoy. On a positive note, the fried shrimp and green beans were great.
The buffet itself looked half-empty by 5 PM, and what was there looked like it had been sitting out for too long. Definitely not the fresh, inviting spread we expected.
What saved the experience from being a total bust was the service. The two young ladies (sisters) who took care of us were fantastic, and the hostess was also very friendly and welcoming.
Overall, this might have been an off day, but based on our visit, the quality of the food didn’t justify the price. Disappointed, but grateful for the great service.

Alrighty.. I’ve been familiar with Catfish Cove since I first sampled their fare at their former Moore location around 17 years or so ago..
Once that location closed, I went a very long time before making it over to their Yukon location.. I finally had the perfect opportunity to try their Norman location today.. How was it?? Let me tell you..
I received a warm greeting as I entered the lobby during a lull between lunch and dinner.. There were about 3-4 other tables occupied at the time.. I asked about and received a military discount, paid, and made my way into the restaurant..
I took a little time to acquaint myself with the layout before sampling any of the fare.. I settled into a small, four top table then went to work..
I sampled small quantities of the following items: Catfish, breaded shrimp, hush puppies, cole slaw, garden salad, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, green beans, and cream corn..
The garden salad was a fresh mix of various greens and there was a small but plentiful selection of salad add-ons available.. I added cherry tomatoes, sliced carrots, boiled eggs, bacon bits, shredded cheese, and topped it off with Italian dressing.. Everything related to the salad was fresh, cold, and crisp just as one should expect from a salad bar..
The coleslaw was finely diced/chopped cabbage and carrots, cold, and crisp.. It reminded me of the slaw my mom makes, which is to say that I really enjoyed it..
The quartet of other sides were good.. They were decidedly food service variety items and I’m not sure any of them were “tailored” by the restaurant.. I recall the green beans at the former Moore location being some of the best out there.. Today’s green beans were average.. Everything was hot, fresh, and tasted like you’d expect.. The mac & cheese was creamy, so that’s a plus..
The single catfish filet was lightly breaded with what I’d describe as a cornmeal breading, hot, flaky, and had a good, balanced flavor.. The breaded shrimp were good, but again, something of a food service variety through prepared well and also hot and fresh.. The hush puppies were much the same and had a great taste..
This buffet offers several other items for those who may want a greater variety.. I spotted baked sweet and regular potatoes, cooked cabbage, greens, cornbread, rolls, fresh butter, pinto beans, cucumber salad, chicken nuggets, kid’s catfish nuggets, french fries, and assorted desserts including apple, cherry, and strawberry cobblers, bread pudding, and vanilla ice cream.. I personally witnessed 2-3 tables enjoying steamed crab legs, too.. Those looked to be amply portioned based on my observations.. There are several other items on the bars that I can’t recall as I type this..
The atmosphere and decor is certainly rustic with several wildlife trophy mounts adorning the walls around the restaurant and there’s even a private back room for large groups.. Pepsi products are offered at the beverage fountain..
All in all I’d say I had a great experience here today.. I’m rating the food as 4 despite it’s freshness.. I would describe it as above average, overall..
The restaurant was super clean.. The food bars had ample supply of everything and were meticulously maintained, which is a plus for me when visiting a buffet style restaurant.. It looked as if they were being careful not to have too much out since it was the slow part of the day, which helps keep costs down for the consumer, too..
I will certainly visit again when the right opportunity presents.. I wish the proprietors well and hope they enjoy a long tenure at this location..

Delicous! Stumbled across this little gem on a recent trip to Norman, OK.
Being a cajun girl from south Louisiana, I was impressed with what they had to offer. The atmosphere was fantastic. The restaurant was clean and very well set up. The manager, Margaret, answered any and questions I had and was fantastic at telling us all about the restaurant and their buffet.
The okra was cooked to perfection. The catfish was amazing. The fried shrimp was excellent and the gumbo was great. Such a choice in food. The iced shrimp and salad was awesome. The dessert bar was amazing as well.
You have to visit. It’s well worth the drive.

The staff is super helpful. We stopped to eat lunch on a long road trip. The name grabbed us, we normally don’t do buffets as we don’t want to over eat. We went in anyway, my wife has a shellfish allergy, they cook the meats ( shrimp and fish and chicken in the same grease and all
Vegetables in separate grease. This makes it easy for her to eat. The have a nice salad bar and baked sweet and regular potatoes. They have lots of veggies. Everything tasted great. They have several cobblers and ice cream.

The culinary selections and level of service provided at the establishment were of an acceptable standard. Of particular note were the catfish, Cajun fish, hush puppies, green beans, pinto beans, coleslaw, fried okra, and carrots, all of which were of exceptional quality. The shrimp lacked discernible flavor, and I speculate that this may be attributable to the sourcing of the shrimp from India. Although I cannot say for certain, this has been my experience in the past. Overall, the dining experience was highly satisfactory, both in terms of cost-effectiveness and culinary quality, surpassing that of the Riverwind Buffet.

We used to go to this resturant often when it was in Moore and was our favorite. This location in Norman is not the same as it used to be. They had a good selection of food and desserts but the food was NOT good. It tasted like cafeteria food that had been sitting out a while. We were definetly disappointed after spending $25 each for the buffet and will not be returning. We just picked over the food and went to chick fil a after so we werent left hungry. The inside of the resturant was nicely decorated for their seafood theme.

The food is great when fresh! Last night when I went there was very little food on the buffet and only the chicken and the fish were hot. The rest of the buffet food was stale or cold undesirable. One whole side was empty. Go to Yukon if you want to eat this restaurant.

My husband and I came in during the lunch buffet on 01/02/26. We paid for all you can eat buffet and crab, well over $100 for 2 people. The ladies were super nice and attentive. For the price we paid we didn’t expect to be eating from Styrofoam plates and bowls. The food on the buffet looked so old and wasn’t tasty at all. The crab was either over cooked or undercooked. We didn’t even ask for more crab and we paid for all you can eat. My husband had also ordered frog legs and he said those were pretty good but today his tummy isn’t. Highly disappointed. Really wanted a refund but we just left.

You pay first, and are asked if you want to tip. Bypass the tip as you will likely be providing all the service for yourself. Food wasn’t fresh and there weren’t many choices. My family all chose the standard buffet. I saw several other tables with crab legs so maybe those are better. There were several tv’s on the same channel, but the audio was not in sync, so if that bothers you… The one thing I enjoyed the most was the gumbo.
All in all, we will likely not return.
