Greetings my Foodzies, recently we tried out a restaurant called Pops Place at 8418 w Grand Ave. River Grove.
It a small spot tucked away I a little strip mall at Grand Ave and Thatcher.
There’s a table and window seats for fine in, the young man who took our order was very friendly and polite. We ordered a steak sandwich with fries and a combo (beef and sausage) the steak sandwich was decent size it just needed a more seasoning, the fries were crinkle cut frozen fries (we prefer fresh cut) and needed to be a crispier. The combo was tasty and good size.
I give this restaurant 4 stars nice little spot. Try it out and let me know what you think. Ciao, Ciao for now.

Went here with my husband and toddler. We ordered the beef meal cheeseburger and chicken nuggets and the cream of chicken soup. Soup and eveything was just amazing. The beef by far was the best! They made eveything fresh. The guy that owned it last year was there and he was sooo nice . He gave our daughter and ice cream and the best lemenade ive ever had. Highly recommended this place.

Was up north today so we stopped by Pop’s Place to try it out and it did not disappoint! Food was . Chicken Philly on a garlic bread hits the spot! Fries are on point too. The Philly steak was really good too! The cream of chicken soup is also a great choice there. Highly recommend this spot!

I’ve been going to Pops place for years and I was super skeptic when new owners took over but Gus the delivery driver who everybody knows and adores assured me that they were cool people and that the food was still great and he was right! I just ordered a big order a couple days ago I got two Gyro combos a bacon cheeseburger combo, pizza, puff, hotdog, and chicken noodle soup and everything was delicious!! The only tiny issue I had was my hotdog bun was as hard as a rock, but the hotdog itself was delicious. I’m happy that good people took over. And that Gus is still there will be ordering again soon.!!

I reviewed Pops years ago and gave it 5 stars. Today I ordered 2 patty melts and they were trash. I seriously threw mine in the trash. I asked for the onions to be cooked softer and longer than usual. They were crunchy and white. I took those off and tried the burger. It’s as thin as a medobalds hamburger and was cooked wayyyy to long. Almost seemed to be reheated. Not coming back here again. 8/13/25

Found this place on maps, wanted to try. Chicken gyro was really tasty, fries were fresh, person at the register was nice, told me they’re new owners, just took over. They’re keeping all the menu options but extending the hours and fixing all other things people had complaints about.
They sound pretty experienced so I definitely trust them on that, also the food was delicious, so definitely coming back here.
