Terrible attitudes from staff and management!! You all short change customers on ingredients and flavor then get angry when asked to make it over. You would save more money and waste less product if you make it correctly the first time. Smoothies always taste like water until the second attempt. Do better!! Because you’re right around the corner from the gym and I honestly like your food items. You just have to do better and stop short changing people on your smoothies.

If i could give no stars i would. Customer service was terrible. The cashiers didn’t greet me after i greeted them first. Simply just asked what can i get you?! I was brushed off once i made it known i was there to place an order and not pick up. Once i got my order it was WRONG. It was chocolate in the peanut paradise. The employee then gave attitude as they offered to remake my smoothie…I don’t understand why people go apply at customer service jobs but act as if they HATE CUSTOMERS AND ARE ANNOYED BY OUR PRESENCE! Typical Portsmouth customer service in my opinion. I hardly ever have a pleasant experience anywhere in this city! Smh.

This is not to be racist because I’m also a Middle Eastern descent. This is just to identify but that Middle Eastern man who works the cash register and acts like a manager, but apparently isn’t has to go. He’s setting a terrible culture for your store. I was in there with at least eight other customers and half of them were complaining about terrible customer service this location regularly has and I will admit that I didn’t receive great customer service from everybody but as somebody with a degree in social science and I’m Food service certified, I’m telling you that your problem is that Middle Eastern man he was terrible to me, apparently others, and he’s setting a terrible culture for your entire store and I can tell that your ingredients are either not properly ordered or out of date and I bet you he’s the one ordering them too. He has to go. Your store will not survive him. This was my first visit to this tropical smoothie and I won’t be back unless it’s the only one close and I have no gas in my car for at least six months because six months from now hopefully that guy will be gone. Thank you to the Girl who had braids today and was working in the back making my bowl for helping me and making me a nice bowl. The girl who was making smoothies was quiet and just working. But that man? What a diva. Also. I read their other reviews saying other tropical smoothies are like this. No they’re not! Next time you’re in VB try the one by Lynnhaven Mall and you’ll see what it’s supposed to be like at a tropical smoothie

Two customers ahead of me were assisted, and when I approached the register, the employee received a phone call and asked me to wait. I did, but an extended amount of time passed with no acknowledgment. The other employee making drinks appeared visibly irritated and did not attempt to assist at the register at all.
As a customer, this was not a good look—especially since I’m not from the area. Customer service like this leaves a poor impression.
I did not order anything and left to find a better place moving forward as I am here on business.

This has been a very frustrating experience and sadly Tropical Smoothie is really falling short on that great customer service. They have the apple pie smoothies of which I went to three different Tropical Smoothies to order from. All of them were out. Why have something on special and you’re always out? Then to call me and say can we replace it with something else? Duh I think you should obviously replace it with something else that you should also make it right on the next visit. There is no compensation offer just the expected service recovery. Nothing refreshing about it. Clearly poorly managed in the whole area. All 3 stores in my area being out of the NEW signature smoothie is ABSURD

Like all Tropical Smoothies the food is good and the smoothies are delicious. The problem is the service. I had an order delivered that was missing a smoothie. They would not deliver it separately, but did offer to pick it up anytime. Days later, I called and placed my order for pickup. I arrived 10 minutes later, and it was not ready. The staff was friendly, however.

Stop by this location real quick to grab me and my daughter a smoothie before catching my flight this morning. The worker in the front was very inviting and her customer service was really good. However, my complaint was that my smoothie tasted weird and my daughter felt the same. I’m usually not the one to complain or write a review but this worthy of one. The flavor of the smoothie tasted like maybe the machine or blender makes the smoothie taste of or maybe it’s time to change the filter. I was told that I MUST bring the smoothies back so that she can make new ones. That’s not acceptable, as this is an inconvenience, I’m clear across town and who is paying for my gas and time for turning around. I have a flight to catch. I thought a simple solution would be to make it right later when I get back in town. I was told no exceptions besides bringing them the product back. This is no way to operate a complaint unless I was there at the location at the time of the complaint. I will not recommend or visit this location ever again. 18 bucks down the drain.

I never post bad reviews but this tropical smoothie is not good at communicating at all. Yesterday I did not get my whole order after having it delivered. My food was left out- I called and the gentleman who answered was very nice and said he’d have the manager call. No call back – I tried calling again a few hours later, no manager there yet. Then called back later that night, manager was supposed to come in this morning – so I called and NO manager. I was told to call back Monday and that the manager had already talked to me “says the manager” and he has not. It’s ridiculous.
