I had a fantastic time at this restaurant. The food was good—each dish was well-prepared and full of flavor. The live band added such a fun and lively atmosphere, making the experience even more enjoyable. They played great music and really knew how to engage the crowd. On top of that, the service was excellent. Our waiter was incredibly nice and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. Overall, it was a wonderful night.

A search for fish fry in Fresno led me to this amazing little pub in old town Clovis. This lovely pub has a small bar, seating for around 25 indoors, and a nice patio. The battered cod was cooked to perfection. The fries were lightly seasoned and delicious with or without ketchup. The General Sherman IPA (hoppy, 60 IBU) was a great match, and the bread pudding with vanilla ice cream was superb. Our just-turned-21 waitress was delightful. And did I mention the live music?? A coroner with a fantastic voice sang Sinatra and Martin songs. A must in greater Fresno.

We stumbled in on this cozy spot for great pub food and drinks. It’s a hidden gem. The bar tender was helpful and welcoming and passionate about the food/drinks/ experience we were having. We met the in-house chef and sampled a new dish he was offering, which they offered to us free of charge! Papa’s Place has a genuine and friendly vibe. We will be returning more often, as this place has become a new favorite spot for us. The location is within simple walking distance of many local shopping boutiques, antique stores, art galleries, and gift shops. Downtown Clovis is full of wholesome fun these days! Also, I love the interior of the place…it’s dark but warm, the lighting is unique and inviting. It’s a cool spot. More date nights there are definitely ahead! Oh, did I mention someone makes homemade liquor infusions that look curious and tasty on the shelf at the bar? It’s giving small town European vibes…

Amazing!!! I came with my partner on a Saturday and they were playing live music! It was so romantic. They had these little candles on the tables. I ordered the ultimate pit beef sandwich. The food was delicious. The waitress was so attentive and kind. I highly recommend this restaurant:)

The staff were friendly and the food was amazing! My girlfriend and I got the Pork belly grilled cheese and the chicken Mac and cheese, which exceeded our expectations!
We also had a Te Adoro and an Infinity Old Fashioned, which were so unique! This will definitely become one of our go to spots for a nice drink and meal.

Solo at a table and ordered water, fish and chips, bread pudding. Waitress was amazing. Food came out within minutes and was hot. Those chips(fries) are so dang good. Rubies any future chip experience for me. Bread pudding delicious. Amazing service and food.

Tucked away in the inside parking lot between 4th and 5th street in Old Town, walking up for the first time, I was pretty excited! The hall way with the beautiful wooden arches overhead added to what was to be!
But there was nothing to be. My wife, son and I walked in to a very judgmental host with an even more snaring eye (OK, yes, I wore a hoodie, shame on me) asked how many and took down my phone number to call when a table is available. We were there to experience jazz night in an intimate environment, that didn’t happen. The 3 of us sat outside for over an hour as party’s smaller and bigger then ours were welcomed and sat before we did.
Let me reiterate that we said inside or out is ok with us . . . . Only 1 table out of 10 outside were taken and we were still waiting at that point.
Multiple employees walked into the empty hallway that we were waiting in. As they served and catered to other people and we were dismissed as if we were not even there.
At that point the disrespect was beyond obvious, so we got up and left. What was supposed to be a fun night . . . Was still fun with a large pizza, a 5 pack of beer (if you know, you know) and Netflix.
My observation of this place is VERY judgmental (hoodies not allowed), complementary up to you to find out for yourself.
By the way, never got a phone call to say our table was ready ♂️

Papa’s Place has great food and cocktails but they are a little pricy now ($15.50 per cocktail as of August 2024). I’d recommend the Mac ball burger if you love cheese and burgers. The Zion was a good whiskey cocktail for me since I like my cocktails to be an even mix between the fruit flavor and alcohol.
They usually have a good jazz artist/band playing on Fridays/Saturdays.

Papa’s Place was alright. The wife and I piped in for dinner tonight. I was a little out off because it’s a small place and they had live music and it was a little loud and the band wasn’t that great lol. We started out with the fried green beans which were ok, I had the pork belly and it was just ok to, the wife had the cob salad and she enjoyed it. Service was good, parking was good and ambiance was ok too. I’d go back again if I had to haha. Go check them out and have your own experience

I stopped by for a quick drink and an appetizer on my last day in town. They had live music on the patio but I arrived late and decided to take an open seat at the bar. I had the Glenn Haven cocktail and it was so delicious and refreshing!! If you like sweet drinks with coconut rum (read: Malibu bay breeze girlies), you will love this drink! I ordered the loaded mac & cheese fries and they were pretty good! Thick cut fries are always a win. The mac and cheese was very creamy so if you like it cheesier or thick, it’s not for you. The fried chicken on top was by far my favorite part and made the whole dish worth it. Loses 1 star for the atmosphere/decoration… definitely seemed run down and like the place could use an upgrade. Service was decent, bartender was busy so I can’t really blame him! Overall a good experience and I have high hopes for the full menu options!!
