Walking in, you can tell this is the real deal. We stopped in for lunch while camping nearby. Bill greeted us and gave us a quick rundown on the history while Jordan took our order. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We had the lunch burrito and a crispy relleno with green chili. Bill makes some of the best green chili I’ve had in Colorado. He credits that to his living in Santa Fe. We will be back!

Wow! Wow! Wow! This was such a great experience. We stopped in on our way from Denver Metro to Durango and so glad we happened upon Robin’s. Upon entering the owner came up, greeted us, had us sit down and enjoy absolutely amazing coffee while taking our to go order. Bill was so friendly and really made our entire day bright. He shared about the business and town and food! We really loved the whole experience. The atmosphere is very friendly and open. Everything is well maintained, clean, and nicely decorated. They even sell little crochet animals that are done by a local woman in the community. We couldn’t help but buy a small ram!

We were lucky enough to have Robin herself cooking during our visit! We ordered a Rueben, a breakfast burrito with sausage, and green chili, and a children chicken finger lunch. O.M.G. The Rueben was out of this world! I’ve had Rueben’s all around the country and world and this was definitely in my top 5! What a surprise! The green chili was delicious. I personally don’t like green chili and I ate about half of my husbands it was so good! Everything is fresh, made from scratch, and just plain delicious!

The owner even spoke with us about some of the history of the green chili making and about where they source their meat and things. Really great quality!

They have a very nice and good selection on their menu and pricing is very reasonable.

I recommend stopping here if you’re passing through and definitely make this a regular spot if you’re a local. Our daughter hasn’t stopped talking about us stopping by on our way home!

Thank you Bill and Robin’s nest for a wonderful experience and meal

Food was fine, service was slow. We came into a mostly empty restaurant. By the time we left it was full. There was a table the came in after us, ordered after us and they got there food before us and left before us. I think our 2 plates sat in the window a little long. I like my food hot.

A Perfect Stop After a Long Journey
After two weeks in Central America, my husband and I were exhausted and starving when we stopped at Robin’s Nest Cafe in Fairplay – the perfect halfway point on our 5-hour drive home from DIA. What a find!
The comfort food here is cooked to perfection. I ordered the breakfast burrito, and it was everything we needed – generously filled with eggs, bacon, home fried potatoes, and cheese, all wrapped in a soft tortilla that made it easy to eat. The portion was so large it fed me for lunch, then my husband for a mid-afternoon snack!
Our server Abby was incredible – she seamlessly moved through the restaurant taking orders, delivering food, welcoming guests, and bussing tables with such efficiency that she made it all look effortless. Her friendly demeanor added to the welcoming atmosphere.
This is exactly the kind of place you want to discover on a road trip. Great food, warm hospitality, and honest portions. We’ll definitely be stopping here again whenever we drive through Fairplay.

Michael Phelps. LeBron James. Wayne Gretzky. Muhammad Ali. Sometimes there come people, and things, that stand out above all else in their respective disciplines. The greats. What relevance does this have here you ask? These pancakes. I’m a sucker for a good diner, and I’ve eaten pancakes across hundred of diners all over the United States, and none have ever compared to these. On a rainy morning at home, I think about them. On a flight out of town, when my belly grumbles, I think about them. Any time I get the chance to stop in fairplay when I’m traveling throughout the state, I plan out my day so that I can get there well before 2 pm to ensure I get a few of these flapjacks. If you’ve read this far, I implore you to take a roadtrip, call an Uber, start walking, WHATEVER YOU HAVE TO DO TO TRY THESE PANCAKES.

We really wanted to like this place, there are not many breakfast options in the area. We ordered pickup, and our order was totally wrong.

Undercooked pancake, home fries were burnt and very greasy.

Also, $45 for 2 people to eat breakfast is a bit expensive.

We understand people can have an off day, but the vibe we got is that this is a common occurrence. Our money is too valuable to roll the dice on a place like this again.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have a great experience here. This was our first visit and we won’t be back. The restaurant itself is very cute and inviting and we were immediately greeted by a very nice gal. That’s pretty much where the good part of the visit ended.

My partner couldn’t get a refill of coffee to save his life, there were items missing from my order and my eggs weren’t cooked properly, and the cooks kept getting on the server about everything she was doing wrong. I understand feedback is necessary but it was so loud everyone in the restaurant could hear her being scolded and I felt like it was very unprofessional.

Hopefully others have a better experience and the restaurant can take this as constructive criticism to help make other diner’s experiences better than ours.

Wife and I stopped in for the first time this morning and were blown away by the hospitality. The owner stopped and talked to us for a minute and was incredibly friendly. You can tell the rest of the staff follows his lead and is very upbeat and friendly. They were very busy so we knew it might be a long wait but to our surprise it came out very timely. I got the “mountain man” and it was cooked perfectly and delicious. They’re doing a great job. We will definitely be back.

LOKAL YOKALS, it’s how we ride. I’m a small town Missouri kid, and 9000 ft up didn’t make a difference. We felt like locals out for breakfast.

The food was fresh, and it was some of the best sausage I’d had in a while. I don’t know if they made it there or bought it, but who cares? It was good.

Right at the turn from 285 to 9 at the stop light. You can’t miss it and there’s a fly shop next door.

If I could give all 10Stars, I would!

You walk in to be greeted as if you are a part of the family.

The service is beyond white glove service.

The food is always fresh, cooked to order, nothing frozen, and Ridiculously delicious!

I will make it a point to stop by each and every chance I get!

You will NOT be disappointed!!
