The best Brisket around, the smokey Mac n Cheese is great, and add Brisket to it and it’s a Moo Mac and it’s the Bomb. Laid back atmosphere with dog friendly outdoor dining, heck they give my pups Brisket Everytime we come, which is once a week. Well worth the 45 min drive.

Really good food!!! Inside doesn’t have much seating available and you’re almost bumping elbows with your neighbors and people coming in the door to pay. No restrooms only a port a potty. Otherwise great service, employees and food!! The smoked Mac n cheese was a favorite!

Pretty good Barbecue Ribs and Brisket. Definitely a go to place for Barbecue. Not a very big place to eat indoors, only 5 tables. But there is a fair sized pavilion for outdoor dining. My first visit, but definitely not my last.

Staff was warm and welcoming. The place wasn’t overly packed as we got there around 4ish, but filled up quickly as the dinner hour got closer. The menu was full of good option, the host and waitress were patient and kind as we navigated ordering for our pickier kids. The pricing was spot on for good BBQ, and food came out quick. Hell, even the pot-o-potty (albeit a little inconvenient) was one of the cleanest and nicest smelling that I’ve ever been in. Anyway, couldn’t recommend it enough.

I stopped here with friends after fishing at Raystown. I decided on the mac and cheese with bbq chicken. It was so good! You MUST try the fry pies (peach) at checkout because they are amazing!! So good I forgot to take a pic!

Thank you Backwoods Smoke Shack for providing delicious food for our family reunion of 57 people. I received many positive comments from attendees. Communication was convenient. Kris was very helpful with planning my order from their catering menu. The food was ready at the prescribed time and well packaged for transport. I was grateful that they were able to accommodate a same day change in pick-up time (pushed an hour later). Would definitely use the again.

Backwoods supplied food for our family reunion at Raystown Resort. We were about 70 adults. I cook and eat my fair share of BBQ, this was good. The brisket and (smoked) mac and cheese were incredible. Highly recommend. Can’t wait to check out their ribs. Thanks for a great meal.

I’ve eaten here twice. Both times I brought friends. Each experience was a hit with the group. The prices are reasonable. Service is great. The food is served relatively quickly, is hot, and flavorful–perhaps a bit heavy of the salt.
