Pleasant experience. Food good and hot. Ordered a salmon burger and fried green tomatoes. The tomatoes were flavorful with a crispy shell. The salmon burger was unlike I’ve had before. It was a piece of salmon, not a pattie, between a brioche bun, tomato, onions, lettuce and a sauce. I appreciated this version.

I never leave reviews EVER, but I ordered an UberEats order on August 20 2025 from Litehouse Whole Food Grill and there was a ROACH IN MY FOOD. The food came sealed in a container in a stapled bag. I transferred the food to a glass bowl so that I could save the rest for the next day. I’ve ordered from them multiple times and I was a loyal customer and actually spoke highly and recommended many. This time, as I was almost done with my bowl, I was looking at my food I saw something that wasn’t a consistent color with the rest of the food. I looked closer and there was a roach in my cooked food. I was so disgusted I literally felt sick. I got my refund from UberEats but I tried to call the restaurant to discuss the matter that night but no answer. I would have went up there but I honestly couldn’t justify going out my way for them, that’s why I always ordered from them on UberEats. So I called a few more times with no answer or voicemail box and today September 3 they finally answered. I asked for a manager or owner, but I spoke with a lead named Joe about the matter and immediately when I told him he did not seem interested nor apologetic. He then proceeded to give excuses insinuating roaches are a normal part of the Chicago restaurant industry, which I’ve never known to be true. He said that there’s an apartment building upstairs and things can come from upstairs like thats a valid explanation. But I’ve been taught to believe that if there’s 1 roach then there’s most likely some sort of infestation so I won’t be returning. If you care about the wellbeing of your customers why put them at that kind of risk and not expand to a standalone building? Anyway, I’m just spreading awareness because I know they are known for their “fresh ingredients” and if I was a customer I would want to know what risk I’m taking eating here.

I saw someone post this business on TikTok and knew it was my first stop once I arrived in Chicago. The Jerk Chicken bowl was . The chicken was very well-seasoned and tender. The veggies were fresh, and the serving size was reasonable due to the price. I did swap my dirty mustard sauce for the chipotle sauce; I’m not a Dijon/honey mustard person. The chipotle sauce was so good, but the bowl doesn’t need a sauce. My friend ordered an Alfredo bowl, and it was delicious. I am very curious to explore their menu when I visit home again.
Oh, and the food was prepared fast! We were in and out the door. The establishment also has seating if you want to sit and eat.

I order their cranberry chicken salad with salmon and it’s a great portion size and sp flavorful. This is definitely now my go to salad place even tho it’s a bit expensive for a salad.

I tried to call the restaurant so they could hear my voice say….”I usually don’t buy bowls from restaurants because they tend to have too much rice. But THIS BOWL HERE WAS PERFECTION!” Just enough rice to have it there so you can have a nice amount of chicken and veggies. The Buffalo sauce was not overwhelming. I may go back tomorrow this is so good! I had to force myself to stop eating to get the pic it’s so darn good!

I really enjoyed the vegan kale wrap it was so fresh and full of delicious flavor! The hibiscus drink was also amazing and super refreshing. The girl who took our order was so kind and welcoming. Overall, a great experience!

Atmosphere inside is thick with the smell of grilled food. So a little hard to breathe. But the food was quite good. I had the jerked chicken bowl which was delicious with just enough heat to be interesting. The root beer I had was good.

I ordered from this place for the first time 2 months ago and I’ve been hooked ever since! Everything is so fresh and seasoned and they don’t skimp on the protein. This place is definitely my go to for the jerk chicken bowl and the southwestern bowl.
