Reviews
The food was good overall, both in quality and quantity. While the grits could use a bit more flavor, everything else was above average, with a wide variety and a large selection of options to choose from.
Our server was attentive and warm without being pushy or aggressive. She was polite, respectful, and made us feel comfortable throughout our visit. The atmosphere was relaxing, which allowed my sister and me to sit, eat, and catch up on family matters without feeling rushed or pressured by the establishment.
We had a great time, which made for an awesome experience overall. Hershey Farm Restaurant was the perfect choice for a laid-back, enjoyable breakfast.
We were pleasantly surprised by the amazing service – the kind and friendly waiters explained how the buffet works and how to order foods from the grill.
The buffet food was all delicious and very high quality-we found most of the food hot and fresh. The salads and soups were delicious, and so were the meats, especially the roast beef. The desserts were amazing! There were countless varieties of pie, whoopie pies, brownies, homemade breads, and ice cream, and everything was absolutely wonderful.
The best part of the entire buffet experience was the grille. A very skilled chef made us cheesesteaks, banana foster pancakes, burgers, quesadillas, grilled cheese, and my personal favorite: the creme brulee French toast. All the foods were delicious and tasted homemade, and there were options for everyone.
Many people say this buffet is the most expensive smorgasbord – however, a weekday lunch is very well-priced (currently 24.99) and kids are free! This was a great bonus, as we had 8 adults and 6 kids, and the kids all ate for free.
One tip is to come earlier in the day, because a whole crowd of people from Sight & Sound Theatres comes down to eat after the shows are over.
Overall, I was extremely satisfied with the Grand Smorgasbord at Hershey Farm. As long as the price and quality stay consistent, this will be my #1 choice whenever I am in Lancaster, and I will definitely be back soon!
We visited on a Saturday night, which is the highest-priced time of the week, and still felt it was absolutely worth it. The property is beautiful, the dining room is inviting, and being located right next to Sight & Sound makes it incredibly convenient for anyone seeing a show.
We did arrive at the same time as three tour buses for the start of the Christmas season, so the place surged with people all at once. Even so, we were seated within 15 minutes, and although the lines were long at first, everything returned to normal within about 30 minutes.
Highly recommend getting the made-to-order crème brûlée French toast from the grill. It’s a standout item and alone is almost worth the visit.
Superior quality, great service, and a well-run operation. Definitely recommend.
The dining area was big and well-lighted. The main event which is the food are all delicious, good variety, and well-stocked. The food area is very clean and inviting.
There is nothing negative that we can comment against Hershey Farm Smorgasbord, except the menu price on a weekend dinner which is fairly on the high side. We could only assume that they are distinguishing themselves from the other buffet restaurants Lancaster is well-known for.
I went here for dinner with a bunch of coworkers. The staff was very prompt and accommodating to get us all seated together.
They had a large variety of different foods to choose from. It was all very well kept/clean. The French toast is a must to try no matter the time of day. The food and desserts were all good.
Just try the French toast. It really is delicious.
Can’t wait to come back again soon!
