Really good food, good prices and nice portions. Its a BYOB. Atmosphere is really cool and they have old jazz and Chaplin silent movies playing.

Exceeded my expectations. The food was really good and creative. My wife got the koren bbq with the kimchi fried rice and bok choy. I got the apple and sausage stuffing stuffed pork chop with sweet potato mash, fried onion ring and broccoli. never seen this sort of stuff in our lives.

From mocktails to entrées and dessert, every part of our dining experience at Restaurant 1920 was amazing. The menu is creative and well-balanced—each dish comforting, flavorful, and beautifully presented (even on disposable plates!). We had the Prohibition Stew & Seafood Fra Diavolo (white) with ice cream in their homemade waffle cone – pictured here.

The atmosphere is what really sets this place apart: quaint, relaxed, and effortlessly cool. There’s no printed menu or traditional table service—everything is ordered from your phone and self-served, adding to the intimate, personalized feel. Perfect for date night or a chill evening out with friends—and yes, it’s BYOB!

Highly recommend if you’re looking for something unique in South Jersey with serious culinary talent behind it. Can’t wait to go back!

Great experience, employees were very kind and helpful. Liked that it was relaxing with getting your own food when it was ready. Food was delicious especially the chicken marsala. Modern but not too modern with the 20’s music and decor. Will be back!

A friend recommended Restaurant 1920, and I’m really glad he did. This is a place I’ve probably driven past countless times, always noticing something going on inside but never quite sure what it was. It turned out to be well worth stopping.

The restaurant has a 1920s theme and operates very differently from a typical sit-down restaurant. There are no waiters or waitresses. You enter through the back door (the only entrance), see a sign asking you to seat yourself, and wait for an open table. We went on a Saturday night and waited about 20 minutes, which wasn’t bad considering how busy it was.

Once seated, it’s clear how well done the dining room is. I was wearing a Carhartt sweatshirt and felt very underdressed. The place is BYOB—most people brought bottles of wine, while I brought a growler of beer. There is a bar, but it only serves mocktails due to liquor license restrictions.

There are no physical menus. You order everything from your phone using a QR code. Substitutions or changes don’t seem to be encouraged, and since there’s no server, there’s really no one to ask, so it’s best to know what you want going in.

The food itself was excellent. I had the stuffed pork chop with mashed potatoes and a mushroom gravy that was outstanding (especially if you like mushrooms). My wife ordered the chicken Parmesan and said it was also delicious.

When the food is ready, it’s placed on a table under heat lamps with your table number displayed. A couple employees float around more like bus staff, but they are attentive when needed. We were dining with another couple, and one meal wasn’t ready at the same time as the others. An employee noticed and personally brought it to our table, which was appreciated.

You’re expected to clean your own table when you’re done. I didn’t notice anything about tipping, and most tables either left nothing or just a small tip, which was refreshing.

It’s a very different, somewhat impersonal dining experience by design, but the food is excellent and the concept clearly works. The place was packed, and we will definitely be back.

Great self-service restaurant with high quality food for low prices! I couldn’t believe the generous portions for the price.

I was initially skeptical about the self-service aspect with a baby, but the ability to order food at different times was really unique and helpful. It was so easy to order more of the great calamari without having to flag down a waiter to ask. I loved that we were able to pace the meal to work for our family.

The ice cream was also fantastic! What a great small spot to bring the whole family!

I’ll give this place a better review when it’s finally open and I can finally taste their food every time I go here it’s closed. It’s like it’s never open. It’s like a shell company. I look online. Everything looks good. I hear from other people in the area because I’m a local and they say it’s great but it’s not great that they’re not open. You can’t have all these delicious pictures of all this delicious food that looks so good and never be open. I guess in 1920 restaurants only opened for 10 minutes out the day, and they closed for the rest of the day, but I will change this review when I can finally taste the damn food.
