What a wonderful Resturant and Bar. We happened upon this Resturant while our stay over in Wytheville, VA. Their outdoor area was open as when we arrived has a duet playing and singing. Food and atmosphere was great. Our server was very helpful on recommendations. We got the mushroom pasta and Braised Short Rib. Portions were great and we left full and very satisfied.

The waitress we got was fine. We came here for a valentine’s dinner and previously made a reservation for two. We walk in and it was packed as expected but we had no clue where to sit. We were led to a group of middle tables all pushed together and i guess a waitress heard us complaining about how we made a reservation to not have to sit next to anyone else. We were then moved to this tiny high top table right next to the entrance door that was shoved in a corner. Not enough room to move our seats and the table was barely big enough for our two plates and two drinks. I specifically made a reservation thinking it would get us a single table or booth and everything would be taken care of. Sorta disappointing after driving 40 minutes for a reservation and seeing people come in after us and take the booths and tables. Food was good.

Ordered takeout on a whim while visiting Wythleville and it was hands down the best quick bite we had in our trip. The atmosphere is clean and almost feels like you’re in a castle attached to a large dinner theater. It’s very inexpensive (coming from a northerner) and absolutely well worth it. Fun staff and a nice, clean bar selection as well!

It’s seat yourself even though I called and made reservations for 6:30 for eight we had to move our own table together! The waitress was quick and brought our drinks quickly. She was very pleasant and answered any questions we had. Half of our table had almost finished eating when the rest of us got our food. I got the huntsman burger and it was suppose to be cooked medium but it was more like medium well. No pink. Also it had zero seasoning on it! The German potato salad was ok. Again no seasoning and the potatoes were almost raw even though it was hot. The table we were sitting at the sun was shining right in our eyes. Maybe add some tint to the upper windows!!

Stopped in on a whim when looking for a place with good food and outdoor seating as a halfway point stop while on a family road trip with our 2 month old newborn. It was also his first ever restaurant experience and it was honestly absolutely perfect. The food was amazing, really exceeded our expectations.. hadn’t had German food that good since we visited Leavenworth WA. The staff was beyond accommodating and truly made it a memorable experience for us. The decor and scenery were spectacular. We will definitely be back any time we are in this area and hope to get to experience the dinner theater at some point.

Das Essen ist sehr lecker und wir werden oft besuchen.
They are currently undergoing an update, courtesy of the new owner. We can’t wait for them to reopen in January. The German food selections are perfection, and the atmosphere is incredibly comfortable. Colton, the bartender/server, is absolutely fantastic. We happily drive nearly an hour to relax and dine, as this is the single best restaurant within 100 miles. Our top recommendations are the Bavarian Appetizer, Rhineland Wursts, and Weinerschnitzel.
Verpassen Sie dieses versteckte Juwel nicht.

Love it! The food is good but doesnt feel as authentic as you’d hope. If you’ve never been abroad then you’ll never know the difference. The staff is great fun to talk to, as we usually sit at the bar. The drinks are delicious.

A German restaurant that only served 4 German meals… there were more pizza and Italian food on the menu than German food.

Sausages were ok.. I had better from Johnsonville.

Veil schnitzel was bad.. more over cooked breeding than veil.. I did not even taste the veil..

Apple cabbage.. I had better out of the jar from the supermarket.

Veggies had no flavor.

BUT the place had great atmosphere…

Fyi.. the Matterhorn is in the Swiss Alps… not germany… so the idea of a German restraunt that is named after a Swiss mountain that served more non-german food than German food… that is had better food from a supermarket…. well..

Oh.. the food of tge day was a HAMBURGER! That is all you really have to say! They know that the hamburger is better than their German food!

Maybe that is why there were only 4 cars in the parking lot
