After a long day exploring the Cotswolds and our local hotel not having much options for us we decided to go for what we know best a good curry. We checked in advance and were told/confirmed meat and chicken are halal and booked a table for 4 as it was also valentine’s day. On arrival the front staff greeted us and told us to wait for a short period while table was made ready. We didn’t wait long and taken to our table. The menu had a wide range of options. Order for drinks and starters were taken. We ordered popadoms came with sauces. Drinks and starters didn’t take too long. When deciding our mains we went for our usuals but the manager made us try a different dish they had but in the choice we wanted king prawn and meat curry. We were glad we had plenty of popadoms as the restaurant was super busy and we had to wait around 40 minutes for food to arrive. When it did it didn’t disappoint. The food look and smelled delicious. The food was well presented and tasted delicious. Everyone was happy with their dish and the portion sizes. We tucked in and enjoy every moment enjoying the chefs food. Compliments to the chef everyone love their food and all plates were empty at the end. Staff were also very nice they give extra nan bread and rice on the house. A lovely Indian restaurant serving Bangladeshi cuisine the way mum cooks it. Thank you to chef and all restaurant staff for a lovely evening and looking after us and everyone else in restaurant. The ladies said thank you for making us try something different!!

The food was exceptional. One of the best Asian restaurants we have been too.
It was recommended by friends and it did not disappoint.
Excellent food and plenty of it.
The service was excellent and they even offered a “doggy bag” service without us having to ask.
They don’t sell alcohol so you have to bring your own but that actually saves you a lot of money.
There were six of us and we brought 6 large beers plus two bottles of wine and that was sufficient.
We shall go back again.

This Indian restaurant offers some different dishes to choose from the normal offerings. Delicious food and atmosphere on a Friday evening. Also this restaurant allows BYO bring your own drink!! There is a supermarket almost next door to buy your beer or wine. There was free street parking available when we arrived.

Outstanding visit to order and collect a takeaway meal for two while staying nearby. Blown away by the warm welcome on a busy night just before xmas eve and knocked out by the quality of the food. Biriyani has never tasted so fantastic, lots of tender tasty chicken in and the veggie sauce was in an authentic tasty sauce.

I love zaika!! My husband and I live in the Netherlands and when we vist my parents who live locally this is always the first place we want to come. The service is amazing, the curries are some of the best I have tried. I love the menu. The fact that you can bring your own alcohol is also a massive plus. Cannot rate it highly enough!

02/05/2025:- Stuck to traditional Asian curries tonight and all were delicious. New photos added. The restaurant’s decor is looking alittle tired now, peeling paint etc., and needs some TLC.
20/01/2024: Went with friends for dinner and all our meals were absolutely excellent – hence giving the food an extra star! The seabass and lamb shank, altho’ not particularly Indian but rather a nod to European preferences, were beyond good and the fusion of cuisines really worked. I’ve added a new photo.
Excellent Indian/Bangladeshi cuisine. Generous portions and the meat was properly cooked as it should be in the individual sauces. Such a rarity these days where most Asian restaurants precook the meat which is then simply added to a particular sauce. One criticism is the selection of pickles that consist of a small bowl of raw chopped onion and 2 yogurt-based sauces – one yellow and very mild and the other red and alittle spicy. Definitely not “pickles” and not worth the money…be warned! The staff were lovely – welcoming and very helpful. The restaurant and loos were clean. FYI Zaika home delivers over quite a wide area. We live the other side of Stroud to Stonehouse and they deliver along our lane. A word of warning, don’t order too much – the portions are huge! Zaika is excellent value for money as it’s unlicensed and you can take your own booze (there’s a Co-op nearby that sells chilled wines and beers) and Zaika doesn’t charge corkage. The service charge is less than 10% for an excellent service from the waiters. There are parking bays with no parking restrictions on the street.

I frequent Zaika often. Service is great and the food is delectable. On top of this today I ordered a takeaway thinking I’ve been over charged, it turned out I was reading from an old menu. They gave 10% off which I didn’t expect. I’ll definitely be saving it for the tip jar next time I sit down for a meal. Thanks
