Hidden Gem
Very nice Thai lao restaurant in Cabramatta. Very different from other Thai restaurants. After trying it with friends I said “you would never know how good it was unless someone took you here and it is great”. The decor was very interesting with antique photography equipment and other decorative things on the walls, lighting perfect for dinner meals. The pork belly was phenomenal. They cook it without the crackling but with a delicious scorched layer of fat on the edge, cooked just right creates a nice moist texture . The pork skewers were great as well. The baramundi was nice with all the spices infused into the meat. The chicken was cooked nicely as well but my favorite dishes were definitely the pork ones. The Tom yam pairs nicely with all the different meat dishes. The Pad Thai was nice and rich. If you’re looking for something different from the regular Thai food definitely go check it out.

We came here on Sunday night for a birthday dinner, the food were delicious and fresh.

Ox tongue and sausage was great! The tom yum soup was a tad bit lacking other notes as it was mainly lemongrass. Squid was a bit chewy but still good.

The dipping sauce with the sausage and ox tongue were good but it lacked the taste of the traditional fish sauce with dry chilli and lime. Plus it was quite small so by the time you finished 2/3 of the dish you are scraping the bowl with the meat.

Overall it is a beautiful setting and staff are friendly and polite. Food was still delicious and enjoyable.

$310 for 5 people plus alcohol and soft drinks.

Our first time dining at Zaap Thai–Lao and overall it was a good experience. We really enjoyed the Lao sausage and ox tongue. The beef larb was fine, though I personally prefer cabbage instead of cucumber like other places serve it. The fried rice was okay as well.

We had mango sticky rice for dessert and the mango tasted fresh, but it was served with the skin still on and folded inside out, so it was a bit tricky to eat — hopefully next time it can be fully peeled.

Service was fine and the food came out quickly. Overall, a nice spot for our Saturday dinner.

the other night i ordered food for takeaway. this morning i was eating their salted egg squid stir fry, and when i put a mouth full of veggies in my mouth, this piece of metal stabbed my gums. i normally love the food here, but this is probably the worst thing that could happen to anyone ever when eating. i can’t believe this.

Amazing Thai Lao restaurant. One of the best restaurants in Cabramatta.
They have a wide variety of Thai and Lao dishes. All very delicious and packed with authentic flavours.
Great service and good atmosphere. Plenty of seats, suitable for groups of all sizes.
Tried over 20 of their dishes – all very yummy and some were exceptional.
If you are ever in Cabramatta, this is a must try restaurant. Highly recommended.

Love the interior deco and atmosphere. The food is very well seasoned if you love food that’s on the more flavourful side. Definitely coming back here often. The bar for Thai food is quite high in the area and this place did not disappoint!

Enjoyed most dishes, green beef curry was great and the chicken feet salad was too! They really do the fried ice cream well, we had the pandan flavour. The esarn sausage was abit of a let down…overall wonderful service and experience but tad pricy for the serving size at least

Interesting menu – not just the typical Thai stir fries you can get from anywhere in Sydney. Having been here for a few times – it seems they have different offerings for lunch and dinner but either way the food was fantastic!

Great atmosphere and always good service. Price is reasonable.

You looking for a restaurant other than Vietnamese in Cabramatta? Well, hidden away from the main thoroughfare of Cabramatta is this Thai/Laos restaurant on the first floor of Park Road, Cabramatta, which we recommend without hesitation. The food was good; the service was good; the portions good; the price reasonable. We had the Tom Yum soup for 2. Three of us had it and a bit remained. The Prawn Bite in beetle leaf was novel and we enjoyed it. The Thai Fried Rice Tom Yum was good; the BBQ Pork was delicious. The Green Curry Chicken was below par. Didn’t have that Thai signature taste. Hence the 4 stars. Otherwise 4. Nice atmosphere but a bit dark to our liking. Yet will visit again.

Lovely and quick customer service! Great atmosphere as well! All the food came out at the same time as well and were all delicious!! Would definitely visit again and a real “hidden gem” in Cabramatta! Didn’t think there was a nice Thai and Laos restaurant in Cabra.
Their dessert were also very appealing yummy as well!
This place did not disappoint 🙂
