Ever imagine being stranded in a dessert and seeing an oasis that you never reach?
My expectations were high to find this local restaurant with grassfed beef and a solid specials menu. We sat down. Great ambiance and nice cozy feel. We sat outside with the flies and bees but they made fun companions.
We ordered off the normal menu and pretty much got burgers all around. The food eventually arrived and we were served with over cooked but not burnt pieces of meat on a dry piece of bread.
So after adding our Heinz condiments and enjoying the view the burger still left much to be desired.
The service was very nice but still slow. Also the WiFi was equally slow where I pretty much didn’t use it.
So much potential squandered. Go online and look up some recipes on how to cook the perfect burger. We all asked for medium rare and we got well done which is amplified by the not so good fries and dry bread.
A burger that isn’t well cooked and juicy cannot be fixed with condiments. And even if they was the plan you would need amazing condiments.
If I am ever in the area I might come back and see if they did better and change this review. With the slow service and tired kids we didn’t even give the place a chance to correct it since all the burgers were cooked this way.

Update on 9/18/2021- unfortunately, the grill closed suddenly and permanently last weekend!
I was hoping the GM would be able to buy the place and take it further toward the community icon and live music venue it was becoming, but the other owners in the partnership decided they wanted to go in a different direction. Thanks for 8 great years, Tony Whaley! You will be missed and so will this community hangout.

I always enjoy the delicious food, beautiful sunsets and live music at the Pigeon Mountain Grill. GM Tony Whaley and amazing staff provide delicious food and excellent service consistently. Also, it’s dog friendly in the outdoor eating sections. I highly recommend!

Really good food, small portions for the price, helpful staff. Tiny cozy dining room, very rustic. The BBQ is better than the burger but the burger is local beef and very good. Lots of dessert choices generously portioned. Live bluegrass at dinner time while we were there. Get the friend on on rings, so good.

Cozy and very friendly! Get the braised broccoli and asparagus!!!! Ribs are pretty good. Potatoes are very plain but still good and homemade.

Very eclectic! Very rural. Picturesque country views. Very good food. They actually have a bar out here in the country. Small and cozy. Well off the beaten path. Loved it!

They are friendly to even exhausted hikers emerging from Piigeon Crawford WMA (Home of Rock Town world famous rock climbing area AND the 1/4 mile boardwalk in the woods The Pocket ) The BBQ is definitely authentic. They have switched to an outdoor venue type atmosphere, with a beautiful view of the twin peaks of Pigeon Mountain.

Great outdoor dining venue in McLemore Cove… will be even more spectacular once Fall arrives. Friendly staff… some micro brews on tap and some wine… wife liked the brisket… out of fried pickles, but fried green tomatoes made up for it. We’ll be back once it cools down!

Was up this way for work and decided to give this little gem a try. Was NOT disappointed! Burger was huge and I could tell it was super fresh. It’s in my top 5 now! Onion rings were tasty too. The three others in my group thouroughly enjoyed their meals also. Highly recommend!!

This place is a gem. Excellent! I could smell the fresh meat before I even got it to my mouth, the beer was cold, and the fries were perfectly cooked. Fresh and delicious food. Great service.

What a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle and eat a delicious meal with family and friends. To get there it is a beautiful drive through country roads, and it is located on a corner lot with two entrances and easy parking. I tried the Brunswick stew, grilled cheese sandwich, and cole slaw- but it was a hard decision because they had duck, steak, marinated portabella, and anything else a person would want. Plenty of seating inside and outside, and awesome beer selections.
