AVOID THIS PLACE!
I was super disappointed, unfortunately this is the only restaurant inside of the Bakersfield California airport. The guy behind the counter for one didn’t greet me?
As i stood on the side to wait for my sandwich, He greeted other people “who did not look like me”, but not me and not other people after me “who did look like me”.
I finally just didn’t say anything so he finally greeted me. Then I ordered a BLT. I took it back to the counter because it has crumbled pieces of what looks like bacon who knows… And I said to him this doesn’t have any bacon just some crumbles on it and he said no this is “6 strips of bacon”.
If anyone in the world has ever seen a BLT or knows what 6 pieces of bacon looks like can you tell me what you think? Is this six slices of bacon? ♀️.
I would personally avoid this restaurant at all cost either they are trying to make more profit from not providing the proper amount of food on the sandwich or they’re just not OK!

This is most depressing sandwich place I’ve ever seen. The cashier didn’t smile or make eye contact. The woman making the sandwiches wasn’t any better.
The meatball sub I ordered was not worth the $10.99. The meatballs were tasteless and barely has any sauce on them. I tasted more cheese than meat or marinara. Should have just had the can of $7 Pringles for lunch, instead.
Never again.
Blimpie’s corporate should reconsider this franchisee.

I stopped by for breakfast before my early flight out of Bakersfield airport. The server seemed tired and a bit slow. The sausage and egg breakfast burrito was pretty good, but the coffee was terrible. I hate starting my morning with a bad cup of Joe!

Ordered a chicken cheddar bacon ranch salad, and was told that they do make make those, and only have Caesar salads. I indicated the “Make any regular sub a salad” option at the bottom right of the menu. The two employees looked dumbfounded at each other for several seconds, and then said ok. She proceeded to charge me the price of the sandwich rather than the indicated salad price, but I did not complain. We were the only ones in the restaurant, and it still took near 10 minutes to make my friends chicken cheddar bacon ranch sandwich.
The sandwich came out minutes before mine, and they asked my friend if they wanted lettuce, tomatoes, and onions on his sandwich, to which he said yes to all.
When mine was ready, I asked for onions on the salad, and was told “we don’t put those on the sandwich.” After insisting I would like onions, I was given two small slivers of red onion. After asking for more, I was given 3 even smaller slivers of onion.
They also forgot the ranch dressing, and once provided it was maybe a tablespoon of dressing in a small side cup.
Stay away unless it’s your only option.

Im leaving a review to help people out. There are no other reasonable meal options in this airport. The airport is itself outdated so the Blimpees is also outdated. That being said, my sub bread was fresh. I would eat there again. I bought a sandwich at another airport that cost me $15. I threw it in the trash. Blimpees has an A rating according to the posted accredidation, given in 2025. The cashier speaks little English but my sandwich was what I ordered. Anyway, I wouldnt normally waste time reviewing a sub shop but if, like me, youre in a pinch, I think I can say without reservation that you wont ask for your money back and itll taste like a sub.

Slow. slow. Slow. This has got to be the most poorly run sandwich shop in the nation. The woman taking orders consistently stepped away, in the middle of taking each order, to pass along a previous order to the sandwich makers. The two making sandwiches were then interrupted from doing their job. Very poorly executed. I would recommend avoiding this business. Perhaps then, it will be replaced by one which is capable of handling more than 6 customers in a 25-minute period.

Food is acceptable, but pricing is certainly excessive. Service was kinda lackluster and the shop just seems a bit run-down. They did keep a bunch of us fed for a 9-hour delay.
