Wonderful bakery can coffee shop in a vintage building/landmark. Their bread is top notch and they make a great latte. Al & Ernie’s has the best breakfast bagel in VanPort. INSIDER TIP: Ask for bacon and sausage. Adequate parking out front.

Best London fog! Amazing kids hot chocolate croissants were off the chain cookies cooked to perfection. Fantastic yogurt, parfait with granola and fresh jam !Amazing quiche… best breakfast in town. I love the Christian atmosphere. I even love the Bible verses on the little hidden areas in it. What a wonderful place.

What a great locally owned cafe and bakery! Wonderful variety of fresh food, relaxing atmosphere (pleasant background music), friendly servers and predictably good tasting food. Order at the bakery case, pay and food is prepared quickly. They call your name when it’s ready. I use a cane and appreciate that they often assist me by carrying my coffee or soup to the table. Delicious cinnamon rolls and sourdough bread among other items, they sell out quickly so plan to come early. There are several community tables where you can share a spot and get to make a new friend. Outdoor tables are in the afternoon sun. Clean bathrooms

My first trip to Al & Ernie’s Bakery Cafe was a touching experience. Mostly because it made me miss the old Al & Ernie’s Grocery store so much it almost felt like a small personal loss.

We ordered coffee that was about as good as what I make at home every morning. The only real difference was the price, which was roughly five times higher. It is comforting to know my kitchen apparently runs a premium café now.

Then came the bagels. Calling them bagels almost feels generous. These things had the structural integrity of replacement bricks for a fireplace. If the café ever decides to diversify into construction materials, they are already halfway there.

The muffin was actually pretty good. Not “best muffin I have ever had” good, but definitely “best muffin I have ever had at this particular price” good, which I assume is the category they were going for.

The chocolate croissant was just okay, although it did manage to upset my wife’s stomach, which really added a memorable touch to the visit.

Needless to say, we will probably never visit again. At this point it just feels like one more annoying traffic jam on Grace Ave, except this one charges you for coffee and hands you masonry disguised as breakfast.

Well, we had great pastries again from Al n Ernie’s this morning and they did not disappoint. We have been multiple times and are always so happy with the quality of their pastries and rolls. You can tell that there’s a great deal of time and energy that has gone into these. I have raved about them to multiple people and they have definitely helped put Battleground on the map. I would love it if they would create an apple fritter. I would love it if they would create an apple fritter as that is my husband‘s favorite. However, he is more than happy to work with those amazing cinnamon rolls. I think at this point I’ve tried almost every pastry they have and their coffee is also excellent. Strongly recommend them if you are coming to Battleground or if you want to make a road trip and check them out.

Wow! Wow! WOW! Battle Ground is moving on up! Al & Ernie’s Bakery is probably one of the most fancy, quality bakeries in the area, but not in a snobby way. The line was about 12 deep and took 20 mins before getting served. Well worth the wait! The acoustics are not bad considering how many people were in there when I was there. Low, calm music playing in the background.

The staff were very friendly and efficient. The food tasty. The reuben was quite satisfying and dipping the chips in the tomato bisque extra yummy. The cranberry walnut crumble sample was amazing!! The Cardamom Bun exquisite and the Egg & Cheese bagel delectable! The cinnamon rolls are to die for! The Fox drip coffee nice, but The London Fog was wow delicious! They even offer things GF and have healthy salad options.

The parking is either on the street or in a gravel parking lot just North off the corner building they’re in. Clean restrooms. And it looks like there’s a big room that has barn doors that close possibly for parties or meetings! Exciting!

Job well done!!

Best bakery my whole family and I have EVER been to! Especially their cinammon rolls – they are to die for. Their breakfast items and drinks are also so, so delicious. They’ve got a good amount of gluten free items. The atmosphere is very chill and relaxed. Cool location, as you can check out antique stores and other shops after your belly is full. We love to come here often 🙂

Hubby & I have tried a lot of cinnamon rolls in various places and states that were raved about… and this is the first time that either of us agreed! This is the BEST cinnamon roll we ever had❣️ All the stuff that kept us from “favoriting” the others (icing too sweet / too much, cinnamon too much / not enough, roll too hard / overbaked) simply does not apply to the one here: it is perfectly sweet, proportional icing to roll, soft warm bread-like roll… YUM❣️ For those of you that don’t love iced rolls, the shop is now testing out caramel pecan rolls on Sat morning. Also, we had to try their snickerdoodles (deliciously soft and chewy) & cardamom rolls (crispy, cinnamon / suger on the outside and soft croissant-like inside) – worth getting❣️

Phenomenal little bakery and cafe. One of the best chai lattes I’ve had in awhile. Bagel sandwiches and tomato bisque were great. Employees were friendly, although the flow of the line and ordering threw my family off a bit at first. The oatmeal scotch cookie we got was outstanding. The only food item we didn’t love was the cinnamon roll. Not much cinnamon made it a bit bland. They were out of a handful of items by the time we came in just after noon, but we kind of expected that. Overall, wonderful experience and would come back if visiting Battle Ground again in a heartbeat!
