Feel like you need to deport yourself in San Bruno? Head over and indulge yourself out here out to Mexico! Had an amazing experience here for a to go order. Ordered the super burritos and fish tacos. Your value goes a long way! There’s a help yourself salsa bar too. I can’t wait to try more out again.

A Tale of Spice, Texture, and the Fine Art of Rolled Perfection

Los Cuates Taqueria – South San Francisco
12/29/2024 – 16:44 (Sunday)

A burrito, when done right, is not just a meal. It’s a moment, a memory, a minor miracle wrapped in a warm tortilla.

Los Cuates Taqueria wasn’t on my radar. It was just a stop between here and there, a quick fix before heading back to the hotel. But fate, wrapped in foil, had other plans.

I stood at the counter, distracted by their salsa bar—an altar to flavor. Ten vibrant offerings, a spectrum of heat and zest. I sampled four, maybe five, scooping fire and citrus onto fresh chips while two women—masters of the craft—assembled my burrito behind me. The place was small, a neighborhood joint, the kind you stumble upon and never forget.

When I turned back, expecting to pay, the woman smiled, warm as the tortilla in her hands. “For you, it’s free.”

For a moment, I forgot the long drive, the crisp December afternoon, the weight of the world. That single act carried me through the next 15 minutes, all the way back to my hotel room, where I unwrapped what can only be described as a masterpiece.

Carne asada, smoky and rich. Rice and beans, the perfect duet. Avocado, crema, pico de gallo—all in divine balance. It was impossibly huge, yet I paced myself, not out of discipline, but out of reverence. The flavors transported me, grounding me in my Bay Area roots, the way a deep-dish pizza would take me to Chicago, the way a proper hot dog could land me on the South Side.

It’s been a month. I haven’t had another burrito since. Not because I don’t want one—but because I don’t want to be disappointed.

Los Cuates isn’t just making burritos. They’re making moments. And sometimes, if you’re lucky, they’re giving them away.

I’ve been here a dozen of times and it just never disappoints, NEVER EVER! ALWAYS fresh, delicious, and generous portions. The main chef, always smiling, grilled the Pollo fresh for my super everything grilled chicken burrito. The level of savory was perfect! Also, all the sauces on the side, zesty and tangy, and garden-fresh! I wanted to eat it all to myself but shared half of it with my boyfriend because I love him a lot and wanted his taste buds to experience this edible joy in his mouth as well. Next time Bae will have to get his own. Thank you Los Cuates Taqueria! Please notice the unfiltered photo attached

It doesn’t matter whether you come here or Daly city locations Both are Excellent . Today we had the chicken enchiladas ; . The beans are so creamy and smooth. The rice is so flavorful. Chicken is tender and juicy. ….. Amazing!!

One of my go to places in SSF for burritos. It can definitely get crowded and expect longer wait times, especially on a Friday night.

Just recently had a quesabirria tacos and they were fire. Had some grilled chicken nachos and that was tasty as well. The grilled chicken has a lot of flavor.

Haven’t really had anything I didn’t like. Highly recommend the agua frescas as well.

These are the best fish tacos I have had in ages!! They use a bass, and give a generous portion. Ask them to grill them with a light brush of their orange sauce – will give a beautiful amount of heat. Overall – an absolute best value!! Wow!

Came here for the great reviews, Chicken was to dry rice and beans had no taste. Nachos can speak for themselves.

This is more of a fast food experience. Order your food at the counter and they will bring your food to the table or to-go. Had their burrito and tacos, bowl of chips were included.
