Open seven days a week, The Capital Grille is best known for our expertly prepared steaks, which are dry aged in house for 18 to 24 days and then hand-cut by our restaurant’s on-premise butcher. The Capital Grille’s wine list features more than 350 selections, and its floor-to-ceiling wine kiosk regularly houses 3,500 – 5,000 bottles. Reservations are recommended but not required. Service was great, greeted and seated quickly, server was attentive. Food came out relatively quick. Food was delicious. I had shrimp cocktail for an app, the wagyu with crab meat enhancement, asparagus and the bacon brussel sprouts. Finished it off with a cappuccino. Would absolutely come again!

Melody is a phenomenal manager. We have honestly never come across anyone who runs a restaurant better than she does. Her leadership, grace, and genuine care for guests set the tone for the entire experience. Capital Grille is extremely fortunate to have her as a partner running this location.
Stuart, the manager and sommelier, is equally wonderful—deeply knowledgeable, thoughtful, and always able to guide you to the perfect wine pairing.
The food is consistently outstanding. Every dish is prepared with care, precision, and quality you can taste. Our family favorites include the clam chowder, the bone-in filet, and the scallops—each one executed perfectly every time. This is food that is not only delicious, but truly memorable.
The entire staff is outstanding. In the dining room, Nick and Hannah are simply the best at taking care of you—attentive, warm, and professional. At the bar, Kyle, Vika, and Chris are top-tier bartenders who always make you feel welcomed and remembered. And if you want someone who truly touches your heart, ask for Sunshine.
For our anniversary, Melody went above and beyond in a way we will never forget. She personally arranged for my husband’s favorite dessert—carrot cake—even though it isn’t on the menu. We were touched beyond words, and I’m attaching a photo of that beautiful anniversary dessert as a reminder of just how special this place truly is.
There is no better place to feel like you are being invited into someone’s home for an exceptional meal. The care, consistency, and hospitality here are unmatched.

The place is very welcoming, with an excellent ambiance and quality. Elegant setting perfect for anniversaries, birthdays, dates on special occasions. Food is savory and delicious. I have savored it in your mouth—plenty of free parking, great location.

This restaurant will always hold a special place in my heart due to my visit on January 26th 2026. The night before I had a near death experience where my apartment building in rogers park erupted in flames. I barely made it out and I lost everything. I mentioned this on the way in when they asked how I was doing and thought nothing of it. The food and service were amazing but what they did for me brought me and my parents to tears. They gave me a handwritten card, a couple gift cards, and an official knife set from the restaurant (I love these knives so much). They also comped our entire meal. I will never forget that lunch and it really helped to brighten my life in that moment after such a tragedy. Thank you so much Brandi, Taylor, Head Chef and I apologize but I forgot the hosts name but I think it started with a k. Needless to say my family and I will be back again.

Second time here. Great experience and food. Our server Nick was very good. He asked if we were celebrating anything & I said the start of my BA party. He shoulda comped us something & even though I didn’t see the final bill I doubt he did.
Did the whole restaurants week thing. Not a bad deal. Awesome steak, delicious clam chowder, tasty potatoes, spinach and asparagus and an excellent (but small in portion size) desert.
Only knock is no one said thank you when we left and that’s a big deal to me. We spent a lot of money there and it would have been a nice final touch. But oh well, I’ll still be back.

I love dining at The Capital Grille in Skokie. The food is delicious, and the staff are incredible. Alex, who is very attentive, consistently provides outstanding service. Chris, the bartender, is charming, love his special Stolidoli drinks. I also had the pleasure of meeting Alejandro, who was very nice and did a great job with the steak temperature. The hostesses, Geraldine and Abby, are truly the angels of the restaurant. They are warm, welcoming, always smiling, and incredibly friendly, which makes the dining experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend it. It’s in a great location with a cozy atmosphere. I cannot wait to come back!❤️

We came in for a private party. The private room provided was enormous with ample space for everyone. Wonderful warm lighting with jazzy smooth music to accompany. The service, impeccable. Food, amazing (as leftovers, pretty meh).
As this was a private party there was a set menu (included in the photos) with drinks available on the other side for extra (no included photo, but your standard fare) as well as specials that were explained verbally. Almost everyone ordered steak with a few ordering a surf and turf. Nice crust cooked to order, but on the salty side if you prefer more bland.
Would highly recommend for a special occasion.

Incredible service and food. Our server, Michael was attentive and charming. The happy hour has great cocktails that were professionally prepared. This place is a real fine dining gem that has that old fashioned feeling of fine execution.

Amazing! A little bit late but I went for my birthday in January. They made my night so special. The server was awesome, Caitlin was her name. She was super sweet and welcoming! Service was 10 out of 10. I am glad I ended up celebrating my birthday with my husband here! Food was delicious.
