Stopped by during a little time gap while I was in Jersey City and this place was such a pleasant surprise.

The space is airy and spacious. No cramped feeling at all. It’s the kind of place where you can comfortably enjoy something quick without feeling rushed.

The pork souvlaki was honestly the highlight. Perfectly charred on the outside with that smoky, grilled flavor, but still super juicy inside. Not dry at all. You can really taste the freshness. The Greek-style pita (without the pocket) was also really good . It’s warm, slightly crisp on the edges, soft and chewy inside. It had this subtle milky flavor that made everything come together.

They also have a café section. I had an Americano and loved it. It’s smooth, aromatic, and no sharp acidity (which I personally prefer).

Finally tried **Efi’s Gyro** after constantly smelling the food while studying nearby — and it did not disappoint.

We got the Beef & Lamb Platter and Chicken Gyro. The platter was huge (great for sharing), and the meat was crispy on the outside, tender inside, and super flavorful. The gyro with fries inside was such a fun surprise — not dry at all, and the chicken had a nice light char.

Greek fries were hot, crispy, and really good with the yogurt sauce.

Around $25 per person, solid portions. Only sad they didn’t have souvlaki that day — guess we’ll be back

Efis is hands down one of the best gyro spots around. You can really taste the difference because they make their own sauces in-house, and everything is seasoned to absolute perfection. The flavors are bold, fresh, and perfectly balanced — every bite is amazing.
The atmosphere is modern, clean, and welcoming, which makes it a great place to sit down and enjoy your meal. On top of that, the service is excellent. The staff is friendly, attentive, and make sure you have a great experience from start to finish.
If you’re craving a great gyro with authentic flavors and top-quality ingredients, Efis is definitely the place to go. Highly recommend!

Stopped by Efi Gyro’s Cafe in Jersey City and really enjoyed it. The space is bright and comfortable, making it a nice spot for a casual brunch or relaxed lunch. We ordered a gyro, a lamb & beef platter, and chicken souvlaki—everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned. The meats were juicy, the pita was soft, and the tzatziki added a clean, refreshing balance. The Greek salad and fries were solid sides as well. You can also see the kebabs being prepared, which adds to the experience.

Huge portions and very solid Greek food.
The Efi’s gyro was massive and super flavorful — juicy chicken, fries inside, and their house sauce has a nice little kick. One wrap is more than enough for one person.

The grilled lamb platter was also huge, easily enough for two people. Lamb skewers were tender, fries were fresh, and both the white and red sauces were good. Falafel was crispy and tasty too.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the space is bright and comfortable. Great value for the amount of food you get. Will definitely be back.

A very lovely community restaurant in Newport. The staff are very friendly. If you live around and are looking for a refreshing Greek food experience, you should at least give it a try. I recommend the fries, pita, and the pork and chicken skewers.

The sliced roasted meat is absolutely incredible! It’s caramelized on the edges, full of rich, smoky, savory flavor.
Highly recommend the gyro and platter; the meat alone is worth coming back for!

such a great spot for a relaxed brunch or coffee break. The location by the Newport waterfront is beautiful, especially for a weekend walk. I ordered the platter and the gyro, super flavorful with their house-made sauce — honestly the highlight. Portions are generous and everything tasted fresh.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Efi’s is the best authentic Greek & Mediterranean cuisine in New Jersey—hands down.
Their menu hits every note: gyros, souvlaki, falafel, salads, and housemade dips that deliver bold, fresh flavor.

• Signature dishes: Chicken gyro, beef & lamb gyro, grilled lamb souvlaki, and build-your-own bowls
• Quality ingredients: USDA-inspected meats, fresh produce, and imported Greek staples like feta, olive oil, and pita
• Clean cooking: No gluten, MSG, preservatives, or antibiotics in their meats

Efi’s deserves recognition for making THE BEST TZATZIKI in North America, never mind New Jersey. This establishment deserves a Michelin Bib Gourmand award for their exceptional food and service. The staff is welcoming, and genuinely committed to making every visit memorable.

As for the owner, Stephano—his commitment to customer service blew me away. I placed a late dinner order and ran to CVS before it arrived. When I got home, I found two full orders. I hadn’t been charged twice, so I called to clarify. Stephano explained he was worried about the Uber driver’s timing and personally sent a second order with his own driver to ensure I’d be taken care of. That’s not just good service—it’s elite.

Whether you’re grabbing lunch or catering for a crowd, Efi’s delivers Michelin-grade hospitality and flavor. I imagine Heaven being an all you can eat buffet with Efi’s catering and never ending supply of Efis homemade tzatziki.

Efis isn’t just a gyro shop—it’s a taste of home and heaven.

This place is not for Indian people – We ordered 2 chicken platters (pita, chicken, salad, fries). As you can see The salad is overwhelming with tomatoes – The chicken was so dry with not enough seasoning, the pita is not soft & not fresh – The only thing they have that I recommend and good is fries well seasoned & taste good.
Their lamb souvlanki is the worst – not cooked – the meat tastes like rubber. Do not order the lamb skewers. Overall, I would rate this 2 — People eating here – get ready for a jaw exercise…
