Went here on Valentines Day with a group of close friends. Experience was pretty great. Service was great, food was delicious as always, and we had a great time.

This is an amazing place for people with food allergies and restrictions. Myself and another friend can’t have wheat, and three members of the party kept kosher and all of us were able to eat without any issues and whatever substitutes we needed.

Also for a party of 8 with apps and drinks, the price was fairly affordable. The size of the meals are more than substantial for the price. Most of us took home leftovers.

All in all, a great experience and we will definitely be back soon.

Quaint little brunch spot on the west end that’s family friendly. Lots of room between tables to have a stroller with a sleeping bag inside. Restaurant is lined with booths that keep kiddos contained and they have a nice little kids menus that’s $15 dollars. Comes with choice of Mac n cheese, chicken tenders and some other stuff that kids Ike and are somewhat mess free.

They serve American style brunch and also Asian dishes like beef noodle soup etc. I believe there is a Chinese restaurant that also uses their kitchen to do delivery on DoorDash (forgot the name of it). Asian food is very authentic esp the soup noodles. Will come again.

This was such an interesting concept for a restaraunt, the mix of both American and Chinese with two full menus for both.

I ordered from the Chinese side and got the pepper steak and soup dumplings, both were great! I would come back to this restaurant to see what else they had to over.

Unfussy food done right that the whole family craves. We went Saturday midday Feb 21and the hostess was adeptly managing a very busy slate of reservations showing too early, people walking in not knowing about being able to reserve (and arguing about that), people fighting over bar seats, and diners just enjoying sitting and chatting for a long time after paying their bill not reading the room at all. I would be comfortable with this woman managing an emergency response team—she needs a raise! We were happy to be able to sit down at our reserved time, order and get our food quickly which was delicious. 6 out of 5 stars!

This was my second visit to this place. The first time I was visiting the LaSalle Dumpling Room which has recently merged into Friedman’s West. We went for the Chinese food.
The food was good and the service was excellent. I really like the atmosphere. My friend and I arrived around 1:00 p.m. on a Sunday and it was rather busy. But since lunch was winding down, we only had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. The hostess and the servers were excellent and very attentive. Both visits have been good experiences.

I had an incredible experience at Friedman’s! The service was seamless from start to finish. Our server, Elizabeth, was so attentive and kept the drinks flowing without us even having to ask. The manager, Carla, was also visible on the floor making sure every guest was happy. It’s rare to see such a hardworking duo—they really make this place feel like a neighborhood favorite.

I was so excited to see so many gluten free options. I had the ricotto pancakes with whipped cream, lemon rind, and blueberries. It was delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. I plan to return to one of their more accessible locations (this one is far west and a long walk from the subway)in order to try all of the other possibilities on the menu.

Friedman’s West and La Salle Dumpling have merged into one restaurant.

The good news is that two people craving different cuisines can now dine together at the same place. However, the downside is that those unaware of La Salle Dumpling’s presence inside Friedman’s may find it nearly impossible to locate the restaurant.

This unique establishment offers two completely distinct cuisines, prepared to perfection. In particular, the xiao long bao and Chinese-style noodles are exceptional. The brunch menu exceeds expectations, and both the coffee and iced tea are outstanding.

We stumbled onto this gem, excellent gluten-free menu and attentive service. The Ruben sandwich with gluten-free bread was 10/10. The portions for the kids meal ($15) were substantial.

The sesame salmon salad was delicious. Lots of different textures and the salmon was cooked well. I do think it was a bit over dressed but delicious nonetheless.

My fiancé had the shawarma salad which was a special and he said it was delicious.
