This is going to be one of my favorite restaurants here in Columbia. I came here to meet with my fellow nurses, and as soon as I stepped in, I began to like the vibe of the place. The service is good, and the staff are professional and polite. The portion sizes are also good for the price. They don’t rush you to finish your meal, which makes you feel as if you are at home. I will definitely come back more often.

Great location, nicely done interior, and reasonably clean. The side salad that accompanies many of the entrees was very fresh and delicious. The sour dough pizza crust was also very good. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end though. Service was exceptionally slow. And they weren’t very busy; plenty of staff, just poorly executed. The (alcoholic) drinks ordered from the bar never even arrived. Same thing happened to the table next to us. The food came out luke-warm at best. Definitely did not meet the level of service we’ve come to know from their other locations. If we did return to this location, which we probably won’t as there are many other great options in the area, we’d probably stick to the bar seats in the hopes that the service is better there.

Our server, Deb, went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful experience. She was attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. Her recommendations were spot on, and she ensured everything came out just the way we wanted it.
We ordered a variety of dishes, including the Breakfast Tacos, French Toast, and Chicken Schnitzel. Each one was flavorful, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. The Breakfast Tacos were a hearty and savory start to the day, while the French Toast had just the right amount of sweetness and crispness. The Chicken Schnitzel was a standout—crispy, juicy, and satisfying.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a family outing. We’ll definitely be back again soon!

I went to Eggspectation in Columbia, MD for breakfast and absolutely loved it!! I ordered the Eggspectation omelette with a hot coffee, and everything was delicious. The potatoes were so yummy, definitely my favorite part. The service was excellent from start to finish, and the restaurant itself has such a cute, modern vibe. I would definitely go back. This was our first time visiting Eggspectation in Columbia and we couldn’t be more pleased with our experience. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We ordered the Southwest omelette and the salmon Eggs Benedict with a side of pancake.

I stopped by for a light breakfast. I asked if they would mind if I sat and typed on my laptop for a while. My server was amazing and not bothered by my presence at all. I sat for about an hour in their beautiful courtyard. I had the caramel beignet donuts and some truly delicious black coffee. I will definitely return. ❤️

For those unaware, Eggspectation once served the Ellicott City/Columbia area with delicious food but closed down and I stumbled upon this new Columbia location by chance, so we very excitedly stopped by for late lunch/early dinner today.
Our server, Idris, was fantastic and lovely, truly an exceptional server and we’d love to dine with him again. We enjoyed the calamari, dinner salad with balsamic dressing (avocado, onion, tomatoes, walnuts and crostini bread with greek spread), Southwest burger (egg, fries, bacon), Eggstravaganza (scrambled eggs, french toast, lyonnaise potatoes and bacon), and cheese grits for $90 plus tip. The meal was incredible. The crostini bread with the salad was seriously delicious – my genuine compliments to the chef! The burger was messy and tasty, and the grits were cheesy deliciousness. The scrambled eggs were perfect and the french toast melted in your mouth, you didn’t even need syrup with them. I was a little worried about the $14 salad but I was huge and filled with more than just lettuce, so thank you for creating a filling salad. Please consider a veggie burger option for vegetarians!
The atmosphere is upscale farmhouse hipster chic, is the best way to describe it. Very clean and comfortable. At first, the music was definitely too loud and we struggled to hear one another but it seemed someone turned it down because it softened by the end of our meal. To all restaurants – music doesn’t have to be blasting, your guests may wish to engage in conversation. There are televisions as well for those who may wish to view sporting matches.
I noticed all staff seemed genuinely friendly and engaged with each table, which was refreshing and made me smile. The team seems happy to be there soon management must be doing something right.
The Merriweather area may have tough parking on weekends but it seems there are plenty of garage spaces as well, and the walkable area is quite nice. I’m not too familiar with the other shops but I suspect you could easily make a day of the area.
Eggspectation, we are SO glad you have returned. We have tried Jam Eateries, and the Gambrills Eggspectation location and they are alright but just not the same. Welcome back, we sincerely look forward to returning!
