Important note: This review is specifically for the Cantina, not the Market & Grill, which shares the space.

We stopped in for a mix of seafood and had a generally good experience with a few hits and misses. We ordered the raw oysters, grilled oysters, and both the fish and shrimp tacos.

The grilled oysters were the absolute highlight —pretty amazing flavor with excellent chorizo. The raw oysters were also good and very fresh, though a bit on the smaller side compared to others we’ve had recently (including this same restaurant yesterday)

As for the tacos, the toppings, slaw, and sauces were tasty on both, but the portions varied. The shrimp tacos were substantial with two big shrimp per taco. The fish taco, however, had great flavor but was very sparse on the actual fish — it felt a bit like they had just scraped a filet into it rather than providing a solid piece of fish.

Service is friendly though the kitchen (to me) is a bit slow – took about 20 minutes for our order today and 30 yesterday for just the oysters – it’s all served in to go containers.

The seafood platter for 3 ($90) was a very oily, pan-fried kind of dish, it had not enough seafood in it – instead it was filled up with lots and lots of potatoes and sausage. The seafood where a few pieces of white fish and a few shrimps. Nothing fancy. Services friendly but a bit busy we had to wait 20 to 30 minutes for our food.

I know this new addition to the Coastside will become a local gem once the word gets out. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is fun, beachy, modern and it’s SO clean! We had great service and sat outside on a beautiful day. Just steps away from where the seafood is caught, the food is fresh and so flavorful. I especially loved the salmon BLT. If you’re visiting Half Moon Bay you must make this a stop along the way!

What a beautiful spot to enjoy lunch sitting outside and plenty of people watching in the harbor. Delicious lunch. The seafood is exceptional! Great service and easy free parking in the lot. Add to your list when you visit Half Moon Bay!

Even though it’s the middle of the day, there’s hardly anything to buy at this so-called fish market.

The display stands are almost empty, and the prices are not cheap either.

Loved the old Princeton fish Market. Don’t love the new “Pelagic” market. Closed Monday Tuesday Wednesday. No love for locals I guess. Went in Thursday at 4:00 but got turned away. Manager said there was no business so they were closing early. Went back and got 2 crabs Sunday. Manager cracked and cleaned them. Got shorted a claw. Blasphemy.

This is a review for the fish market (next to the restaurant)- absolute BEST fish in the area. Caught fresh daily and absolutely delicious. We’ve stopped buying fresh fish from the grocery store. Halibut melts in your mouth and delicious salmon! If they aren’t open, go next door and ask for Mishelle!

Only If i read the reviews before buying here but this place sold me spoiled and rotten Dungeness crab and buy at your own risk. Please check before buying because can’t trust this vendor.

Came here to buy fresh crab off the boat, and used this company before when it was Princeton fish market to cook and clean it before taking it home. This time, they ripped all the legs off the crab body to clean it! it definately ruined the experience. I brought home a bag of little solid bodies and bunch of torn up/off legs. Do not recommend!

We bought sole today and while it looked okay in the display it stank once we got it home and opened it. It was anything but fresh and we didn’t dare eat it. Will return tomorrow and demand a refund. This is not the first time this happened.
